CEDIA | About us

CEDIA is the international trade association and central touchpoint for companies that design, manufacture, and install technology in the home. The association powers the industry with cutting-edge education, certifications, and standards to ensure the highest levels of professionalism within the industry.

CEDIA helps bring technology integrators and design professionals together to deliver technology solutions that allow people to have their best moments in life from the comfort of their own home. When integrating technology into the home, the first step should be to build a relationship with a CEDIA member from the very beginning. This will provide a clear idea of how rooms will work once furnished, so TVs and speakers can be positioned in the optimum locations and all power points and cables can be terminated, so as not to be seen when the equipment is finally installed. As experts in their field, CEDIA members offer professional advice and guidance in the design of a personalised system for the connected home. They provide information on the latest technology and how to use it as it becomes available. Working with a CEDIA member is the best insurance you have that the final system will meet yours and your client’s expectations. CEDIA offers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses — accredited with RIBA, the BIID, and others — that are designed to help designers increase their knowledge of smart home systems. Through the CEDIA Outreach Instructor programme, CEDIA members deliver home technology education on a regional basis.

PROJECT

The Disco House TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Perfect Integration The interior design on this project was inspired by the style of the socialite, Merella Agnelli of the Fiat Empire. The system had to be fully integrated and installed as discreetly as possible. Where technology had to be seen, it was installed to complement the interior. As the development was to be fully furnished and marketed as a turnkey property, the systems were programmed to show off both the interior design and the technology during viewings and marketing. Lighting control was a primary consideration as the property is very tall and narrow with restricted natural light. Perfect Integration installed a Lutron HomeWorks QS lighting and shading control system with the latest Palladiom keypads. The finish of each keypad was chosen to either blend into, or complement, the wall that it was mounted on.

The cinema room overlooks a subterranean lightwell and Japanese garden.

Amina plaster-over invisible speakers were used in all principal areas, with small Amina subwoofers discreetly installed into the walls or joinery. The dining room subwoofer grille is beautifully hidden within a wooden panelled wall. The master bedroom walls are panelled white leather, so a Future Automation sliding panel system was used to hide the 65 screen when not in use. In the snug/library, a more traditional look and feel complements the dark wood panelling, green velvet curtain/room divider, and brass ironmongery; a freestanding Bang & Olufsen TV with a gold frame was installed to match the dÊcor and tone of the room. 7

Woelf As the client is a property developer with some awareness of home technology, he was convinced that integration would enhance his quality of life at home. This residential home in Hassalt, Belgium has a specific contemporary style and it was made clear to Woelf that aesthetics was fundamental to this project. Their task was to choose the right equipment keeping price, quality, and aesthetics in mind: Woelf worked closely with the interior designer to deliver this.

Wherever possible, minimalist technology and control was used.

The size of the home meant that it had to be controlled in an intuitive and functional way, for both the homeowners and their two young children. Sleek and unique Basalte Sentido keypads were installed for their functionality and design. Working with the interior design team, the decision was made to use both on-wall and in-wall speakers to suit the design of each room. 11

Project 680 TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

TwentyTwo Integration The emphasis on this retrofit apartment in London was that it should not be too tech heavy; that the focus should be on the interior design first and the technology second. As the finish of the apartment was very design driven, TwentyTwo Integration needed to ensure that the system complemented the internal architecture and blended in seamlessly with the design. It was important to the client that each room in the house worked the same way so that there was uniformity. In terms of lighting control, TwentyTwo Integration had to remain flexible. The fitting schedule was undefined, so the team ensured cabling was such that the designers could pick and choose the light fittings as and when they were ready. The integrator took the lighting design produced by the interior designer and used this for the panel schedule drawings. This meant that the team could pre-programme the system off site. The Lutron seeTouch keypads allowed for control of both the lighting and blinds. The buttons were engraved to ensure easy control. The button engraving was matched on the Control4 interface to provide consistency. The client wanted the lights and blinds to adjust automatically during periods of no occupancy. This was achieved by adding ‘home’ and ‘away’ buttons on the entrance hall keypad for easy activation. 15

Parisian Duo TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Henri The Henri team was 100% responsible for this fourstorey residence, which includes an independent loft. The design office, technicians, and programmers have all worked together to meet the expectations of the designer, the owners, and their children. The owners wanted to be able to easily control lighting and blinds, play music in some rooms and in the garden, have a home cinema solution in the children’s playroom, a video area in the office, and have a reliable security system consisting of an alarm, CCTV cameras, and video access control at the entrance. The objective was to deliver a smooth installation with intuitive control. The lighting and shades control system is a KNX solution. In terms of keypads, the interior designer selected models from Lithoss that Henri integrated into the KNX system, using interfaces that fit in the electrical boxes. Through the KNX installation, Henri also manages the underfloor heating system. There are temperature sensors hidden in the wall keypad and completed by sensors integrated in the floor to avoid overheating.

Henri intergrated and manages the underfloor heating system.

The Henri design team made use of cabinetry furniture to complement the interior design wherever possible. In the office of the main residence, Henri installed the subwoofer in the furniture with a grid opening. In order to ensure the room was aesthetically pleasing, another grid — without anything behind it — was installed for the room to be symmetrically identical. Similar work was completed in the loft, where the subwoofer was installed in a piece of furniture, in line with the client and designer’s request. 19

PROJECT

Palm Jumeirah Villa TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Archimedia Archimedia has designed an easy to use system into this project. The client wanted the integrator to design a casual cinema for him and his family, where they can enjoy movie nights together as well as gaming days with an Xbox Kinect.

The integrator encouraged the client to use mostly Dali lighting control.

Archimedia designed a distribution system using a Savant Audio Matrix with Sonance amps. All areas (except the children bedrooms) had in-ceiling speakers as to not impact on the room design. The villa has a Lutron lighting, shading, and HVAC control system. The integrator encouraged the client to use mostly Dali control and insisted that the team test the fixtures for compatibility first to ensure the best performance to avoid the same problems they had experienced before with lighting systems.

Lakeview House TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Intuitive Homes & Ultamation The objective for this 12,500 sq ft family home in Cheshire was to provide a fully integrated home as part of a complete renovation of an existing property. The project truly encompasses the ultimate integrated home with the perfect synergy of architectural/interior design and technology. The client already had a cinema room but as it was quite far away from the main living space, they found that it didn’t get used as much as they would like. Intuitive Homes & Ultamation wanted to give them a better big screen experience than they had previously enjoyed, but all in the convenience of their primary lounge: open plan to their kitchen and dining room and where they spend most of their time. The team worked with Future Automation and a custom canvas maker to create a huge mechanism that opens two 2.5m square canvasses to reveal an 85" 4K TV. The canvasses were sent to an artist who the interior designer commissioned to create the impressive Diptych painting that looks just as good when split either side of the TV or as a large landscape painting when the TV is off. This property has a variety of Future Automation mechanisms to hide the larger TVs and leave the clean and modern looks of the interior styling un-spoilt when not in use. 27

BNC Technology BNC Technology was contracted to design an automated home with high definition video in some rooms, and a combination of high resolution audio in areas that the homeowner spends a lot of time in, and high-powered audio distribution for main entertainment areas. As the client lives alone, BNC Technology designed a system that controls all other rooms when the client is in his wing of the large property. The media room has been designed for viewing sport during the weekends as well as occasional movies on weekends. Surround sound was installed comprising of an acoustically transparent projection screen, projector with a vertical mirror mount, DSP floorstanding speakers with a hidden centre channel behind the screen, a pair of in-ceiling speakers, and a subwoofer.

Audio, video, lighting, and HVAC are all integrated into one holistic system.

Access to power is a constant issue in the property’s location, so the system has been designed with power conditioning at the fore: for protection from mains supply surges, and to feed components based on importance. The home has been designed for future upgrades of underwater speakers and the equipment racks have a lot for room for additional components — the raised flooring in the plant room will allow BNC Technology to run future cables and keep it as beautiful as the rest of the home. 35

Pole Homes Villa TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Archimedia The objective for Archimedia was to design a system that integrated everything together in a single app that had the ability to be accessed from outside the home as the family travels regularly. Also, because the house is quite big, he wanted to get feedback on what systems were being used in which zones. Finally, the client wanted less clutter on the wall and wanted to have a single keypad that controlled lights, curtains, and HVAC. The client has also built a large basement; this area is his personal space where he entertains family and guests and incorporates a games area, nightclub, and home cinema. One of the compromises Archimedia made was the interior design for the cinema. Even though the integrator provided the client with all the Interior design for the space, the client overruled the recommended finishes, choosing his own.

The basement also contains a home cinema for entertaining friends and family.

The beauty of the Savant control system is that the users can create their own automation events. Archimedia taught the customer how to do this and they are now experimenting with many options themselves. 39

Le Rocher, Monaco TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Perfect Integration A past Perfect Integration client who is based in London, contracted the team to work on his new project in Monaco, which he planned as being his forever home. The integrator worked alongside a number of other contractors, all under the guidance of the architect. Most principal rooms feature Amina invisible speakers, with a pair of B&W Diamond bookshelf speakers in the study and pre-wiring for floorstanding Meridian speakers in the reception room. All bedrooms include end of bed pop-up TV mechanisms, which were sunk into the concrete floors during construction to keep the cabinet heights to a minimum. The client did not want any surface mounted or freestanding speakers for the outside of the house, but wanted sound in all areas. Being on the tip of a peninsula, with 270 degree views of the Med, outdoor dining and leisure is a number one priority for the client and his friends and family. With this in mind, all external areas have discreetly installed outdoor speakers, with flush mounted speakers built into the terrace balustrade and veranda canopy, and a high output Sonance landscape system around the pool, with 12 speakers and four buried subwoofers.

Floorstanding speakers in the reception room.

Due to the complex and high specification finish of the ceilings, Perfect Integration was restricted when placing speakers in the ceiling so they needed to find alternative solutions to suit: one instance sees the invisible speakers placed into the wall on either side of the fireplace. 43

PROJECT

Project 701 TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

TwentyTwo Integration A newly built Palladian style three-storey country home set amongst 53 acres of parkland on the edge of Savernake Forest, this project was an AV delight with the client, who in their own words, are technologically capable, but not nerds. They like the best, however they are not overly ostentatious. To balance aesthetic impact on the design and audio quality, TwentyTwo Integration opted for high-quality plaster-in speakers in all rooms with audio. Being installed during the construction phase and finally invisible behind a thin layer of plaster, selecting the optimum Nakymatone model of speaker suited to each room, the audio quality was not compromised. TwentyTwo Integration used the lighting design produced by the interior designer for their panel schedule drawings. This meant that the team could preprogramme the system off site. The sleek design of the Lutron Palladiom keypads allowed for control of both the lighting and blinds. The buttons were engraved to ensure intuitive control and matched the Crestron interface for uniformity. PROJECT

Historic Estate TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

SMC The initial design brief for this project was to update the client’s family home of 20 years with integrated, modern, connected technology. The equipment itself needed to be hidden as much as possible or to be discreetly coordinated with the interior and exterior decor. The existing wiring infrastructure was to be reused wherever possible to reduce the risk of damage to the specialist Venetian plaster wall finishes throughout the property. The client appreciates high-quality audio and wanted to incorporate this without a dedicated cinema room, which wouldn’t fit comfortably with the aesthetics of this heritage property. SMC, therefore, designed a discreet, full-blown media room in the main living room. SMC installed a drop-down projection screen concealed in an oak ceiling beam, directly in front of a large south facing window. Due to the size of the projector, SMC created a custom vertical mirror mount configuration, projecting via a hole cut incorporated subtly into the oak panelling. The front channel speakers and subwoofers are covered with acoustic fabric to match the plastered walls, while the in-ceiling speakers are painted to match the oak finish. The client is astonished by the quality achieved and delighted that the system is virtually invisible when not in use.

SMC installed a drop-down projection screen concealed in an oak ceiling beam, directly in front of a large south facing window.

Given the scale of this estate, security was extremely important. Hanwha 4K cameras, PIRs, and IP security lighting provide contiguous estate-wide coverage. The external devices were colour matched to ensure subtle coordination with the traditional aesthetics. SMC upgraded all alarm devices. The intruder alarm keypads were integrated with Crestron to allow estate-wide control from each touch panel whilst avoiding wall clutter. 51

Hi-Concept Since the customer was a child, he’d dreamt of having a home cinema and a Ferrari. This project was the culmination of both dreams. In his mind, he wanted to house the two elements in the garage. Whenever he stepped into the garage, it would be a reminder that he had accomplished his life’s yearning. The challenge for Hi-Concept was designing a room that could fit in the specific shape and structure of the garage, without compromising on sound and aesthetic quality. It was essential that the interior design was sleek and modern, with a touch of nostalgia. Hi-Concept wanted to hide as many of the high-performance components as possible, to deliver an incredibly immersive experience. To achieve this, Hi-Concept separated the room from any contact with the surrounding metal structure, created panelling and faux walls, and installed four levels of acoustic treatment to give the room optimal sound. Hi-Concept programmed several lighting and control scenarios, activated by a wall switch to cover use cases, like cleaning the room, reading, watching a movie, and an easy all-off switch. 55

BNC Technology BNC Technology was contracted by this client for a second time, in order to take the client’s cinema design to the next level of luxury and grandeur. The setting for this challenging project: a new home that was already constructed, the spaces were defined, the dimensions immovable. The brief required an immersive experience within a compact footprint. BNC Technology’s design team had to be millimetre perfect, focussing their efforts and maximising the floorplan. A partitioning wall at the entrance became more than just a design feature — it was a core part of the technical package. The initial recommendation for the screen position would compromise the rest of the space. With no extra space to play with, BNC Technology designed a partition that not only provided the traditional feature wall of a cinema, but also allowed the required two rows of seating to be fitted in comfortably.

A surround sound system was implemented, with the ability to grow to a fully immersive Dolby Atmos space when the budget would allow. All the channels are hidden behind an acoustically transparent masking that surrounds the room to ensure the interior design wasn’t impacted. 59

The Cavern TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

The Pyramid Group The property is a period mansion (circa 1750s) built primarily of stone. The Pyramid Group was brought in to install a new cinema that would replace a previous basement cinema that had become old and outdated. Thanks to a visit to the integrator’s showroom, the design and technology requirements were very clear. The design is a unique environment of faceted panels, excellent acoustics, and image quality, as well as custom lighting and furniture. The layout of the room presented a few challenges, including where to place the speakers, as the position of the door and height restraints between the ceiling and seating meant that they couldn’t be placed in the usual position. The Pyramid Group overcame these issues to deliver an immersive experience, while still having the interior design and the forefront of their minds. The 3D faceted panels were laser cut and covered in acoustically transparent fabric to create apertures through which the audio projected, ensuring a completely invisible audio setup to be created. The finished cinema is a huge success, with the client referring to the experience as “outstanding and beyond expectations.” 63

Labiib Solutions The performance objectives for this room were to create a reference level cinema with a 7.1.4 setup in a very stylish looking room that would suit a young Saudi lady, who trusted the integrator in creating her dream cinema. The door for the room was on the back, so the integrator had to design the room in a way that anybody coming in, would walk all the way to the front and then use the stage on the other side to go to the second or third row. Using Artnovion acoustical panels, Labiib Solutions installed them in a creative way to get a nice looking and high-performance cinema room. Labiib Solutions installed a Dolby Atmos speaker setup and integrated the AV alongside the lighting and HVAC. To reduce the noise coming from the HVAC system in the cinema and to prevent it from distracting the interior design, the integrator advised the client to use a concealed unit rather than a split unit, and have it installed in an adjacent room with a noise reducer. 67

The Sound Sense team designed the required blueprint for the cinema room, projector room, and rack room to accomplish a neat in-wall setup and a monster sized screen. Many back and forth discussions were required with the architect to make the required changes to the blueprint. The setup includes a large screen and seating for 16 people. The brief included the ability to set the tone of the room based on the client’s mood, so various ambient lighting scenarios were devised and customised with diffused lighting. To deliver the best AV setup, the integrator opted for an immersive Dolby Atmos 9.4.6 system, with four subwoofers placed discreetly in each corner of the room. 71

Perfect Integration The client’s brief was to design and build a statement piece, to be nestled in the basement of his Monegasque ‘Belle Epoque’ villa. He wanted a bold and impressive cinema that was inspired by the Le Palais Garnier, the famous Parisian Opera House. The three essential elements in the design for the client were aesthetics, lighting, and performance, and Perfect Integration was responsible for the entire interior design and install. Keeping as close as possible to the classical operatic style to which the room pays tribute, the integrator mimicked the similar deep red and golds tones of the original — with accents of timber in the detailing where possible — to enhance the ambience of the room and improve on the warmth. The most important design feature of the room was the curved ceilings, allowing Perfect Integration to locate the Dolby Atmos surround speakers more effectively. With a narrow installation depth for the in-wall speakers and an angled offset baffle for the in-ceiling speakers, the integrator was able to locate the speakers quite freely in the room, and achieve the desired layout.

The room pays tribute with the similar deep red and golds tones of Le Palais Garnier.

With the aesthetic and performance boxes ticked, Perfect Integration turned to the lighting. The team designed a lighting scheme that featured uplighters, wall sconces, linear LED strips in the stairs, columns, cornices, and ceiling rose to deliver specialty scenes; for social viewing, private viewing, general viewing, and for showcasing the grandeur of the room. 75

New Wave AV New Wave AV was contracted to create a media room within an existing property in Reading. The client wanted to ensure the system integrated within the room as seamlessly as possible. The room also needed to offer both day to day use and a wow factor for event watching, such as sport or family film night. To achieve this New Wave AV suggested utilising both a TV and a projection solution. A hidden projector drop and the incorporation of the projector screen within the cabinetry ensured the technology was as hidden as possible. Close liaison with the cabinetry manufacturer was required and a reverse roll screen was specified to ensure it was as tight to the front of the TV as possible. In addition the speakers were colour matched with the Farrow & Ball Hague Blue paint that had been specified by the interior designer.

Artcoustic speakers and a TV screen were installed within the cabinetry.

The client wanted to integrate with the existing lighting in the room as well as adding some new feature lighting. The drop ceiling that was required to house the projector drop allowed for a perimeter RGBW linear light to be fitted. This was then integrated within the control system. Lighting scenes were created and these were automatically triggered depending on whether the TV or Projector were selected. 83

Fun For All TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Finite Solutions The brief to Finite Solutions was to convert an unused basement into a space that family and friends could enjoy together. The client wanted a cosy warm feel that would tie into the interior of the rest of the house. The client also wanted to display his vinyl collection in illuminated shelving on either side of the screen and be able to hide or reveal the projector, dependent on the use of the room. The client insisted on a wood finish to the doors, but as this wasn’t achievable for audio purposes, an aluminium frame was built with a solid fixing position above and below the speakers. This fabric gave the appearance of a solid door and delivers on the performance criteria and interior design goals of the client. The basement windows are like castle windows and angle inwards from a large reveal to a small slot window, which made fitting suitable sized blinds difficult, especially as the client didn’t want to see guide rails on a blackout system. The wall upholstery panels were made to overlap the top and sides of the reveal to conceal the roller mechanism and to provide a degree of blackout channelling, which ultimately worked well aesthetically and provided a good compromise solution to full blackout.

Snacks, drinks, and the AV equipment are discreetly stored away.

The little design details counted on this project. Finite Solutions integrated the Control4 system with Heatmiser and a thimble temperature sensor was installed discreetly in the room, allowing the unattractive wall plate thermostat controller to be hidden in the cupboard. 87

A lover of action and superhero movies, the client wanted to be able to easily watch TV, but also have a very large, high-quality front projection solution that is suitable for epic movie nights and multiplayer gaming. The team specified a bespoke acoustically transparent, reverse roll screen with custom masking and ambient light rejection to deal with the tricky space and all aspect ratio requirements. The huge screen is contained in an extremely compact custom housing concealed in a reveal. This project was unique, as the client wanted to be able to see some of the electronics. This required SMC to position this equipment so that it can be accessed from within the room, without taking away from the aesthetics. The standout element to this are the speakers that surround the TV. This design allows the client to show off the equipment. But if he decides he doesn’t want it on show, SMC has given him the option to hide the speakers with a large projection screen that comes down in front of the speakers.

Penthouse Perfection TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Perfect Integration The client is a bit of movie buff. The apartment is within an iconic, listed building and is one of only two penthouses within the scheme of over 300 apartments. Perfect Integration’s client bought off plan two years before the apartment was due to complete, and because his was the highest value unit by some margin, managed to get the developer to agree to let him make some changes during construction to incorporate a higher spec AV system. The joinery design and room layout meant that the client’s existing floor standing speakers couldn’t be reused with seriously compromising the furniture layout and usability of the room, so a built-in solution was the obvious answer. The joinery lent itself to two very tall slim speakers at either end of the unit, as well as a dropdown projection screen in front of the TV.

The projector is hidden away in the ceiling and uses a motorised mirror lift.

The main issue Perfect Integration faced is that the media room is open plan with the rest of the living space, including the stairs down to the front door. Combine this with the client’s fondness for watching movies loud and late at night and he had some complaints from within the building. To overcome this, the integrator worked with the interior designer to add an acoustic pocket door which can be closed to section off the media room from the rest of the apartment when the system is in use. 95

The system has been designed so that each audio zone can have its own independent audio stream as well as grouping them together, if required. The main spaces in the apartments have speakers installed and all secondary spaces have provisions to add speakers. Additionally, all living room spaces have provisions for 5.1 systems if the homeowner chooses to add them. Finally, the audio distribution system has been designed to integrate with the video distribution system so that the sound of the video content comes from the speakers installed in the room.

Secondary spaces have provisions to add speakers if the homeowner chooses to.

Archimedia worked with the client to ensure they were designing each apartment to be customisable and very flexible for the homeowner to do whatever they wanted at the time of purchase or at any time in the future. 99

PROJECT

The Homeplay Experience Centre TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

Homeplay Homeplay’s objective was to create a space that would allow the team to engage with the design community and show what’s possible when the integrator is involved in the early design phase. The team want their clients and professional teams to think of them as a key part of the design team and not just people who fit speakers. The interior design, fit, and finish is exceptional. Homeplay decided to spend more on the interior than the technology. It’s been designed to look like a luxury apartment, with virtually no technology on show when it’s not in use — an achievement since it is packed with technology. A key room is the cinema, which features a 3m wide projection screen, projector mirror lift, full acoustic treatments, luxury fabric wall system, Cineak seating, and custom-built twin motorised pocket doors. An invisible 5.1 media room system, which is housed within a beautiful custom cabinet with bronze detailing, utilises a Future Automation moving panel mechanism, Amina speakers wrapped in wood veneer, and a Sony 55" OLED TV with Acoustic Surface. It is totally invisible when not in use, yet totally immersive when in use. It’s a stunning example of what’s possible when design, craftsmanship, and technical knowhow are expertly combined.

The interior design, fit, and finish is exceptional.

The lighting design area was specifically designed to show different lighting effects, quality of lights, and dimming. It includes a unique and amazing demonstration showing the difference between a 98CRI downlight and an 85CRI downlight. 103

PROJECT

Smarter Homes Experience Centre TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR

NGC Systems NGC Systems realised that what all clients have in common is the preference to purchase a product having tried and tested it in person. For this reason, the integrator wanted to create a showroom that focusses on highquality AV as well as stunning finishes — fixtures, fittings, and furniture. An interior designer was contracted to work on the layout, finishes, and colour choices, and another for the furniture. Each area in the 1000 sq ft showroom features speakers, TV’s, and lighting control, but all with a design twist. The bar has a pair of Artcoustic cloth covered multi driver speakers, RGBW lighting, and three TV’s incorporating a picture in picture scaler — a sports bar idea. The media room mimics a typical living room and shows how technology integrates beautifully into the design. It features a hidden TV, a width matched soundbar, square grills for the ceiling speakers, an automated fireplace, roof light, and roof blind.

The media room mimics a typical living room and shows how technology integrates beautifully into the design.

As the project went on, the overall quality of finish increased dramatically. From painted walls to wallpaper, from basic flooring to solid wood chevron, and from a basic freestanding bar to a complete inbuilt bar/kitchen setup. As NGC Systems is selling to the high-end market, they have created a space that meets the expectation of this audience. 107

Cinema Space Frame COMPANY

Cinema Build Systems Cinema Space Frame is a modular and scalable component system to create the framework for fabric walling systems. This framework takes away a huge amount of the custom joinery work and challenges required to form a high end bespoke residential home cinema. This allows integrators companies to take in-house ownership of the cinema build process and removes the reliance on third party companies to carry out these critical stages of the project. Our system has been likened to “Lego for Cinema Rooms” by integrators who have used or experienced the system. These building block components give integrators

Control4

Sonic is installed just after the water shutoff valve once the plumbing has entered the property. When it has been professionally installed, Sonic uses an HD Ultrasonic flow meter, water pressure sensor, water temperature and ambient temperature sensors to quickly build a profile of the normal water usage in a home. Sonic recognizes the “water signature” of each plumbing appliance in the property and understands the difference between the dishwasher running in the middle of the night (or when no one is at home) as opposed to a pipe or appliance that has developed a leak. One of the neat features of Sonic is that it is battery or mains powered (mains power adapter sold separately) and the batteries are used as a backup if the mains power adapter is being used. The batteries in Sonic will last 2-3 years, depending on how frequently the valve and pressure tests are run.

Control4 Smart Home OS 3 has been fully imagined as the first Smart Home Operating System. Control4 OS 3 interoperates with a broad and deep ecosystem of connected devices, controls them all from a single platform, and provides homeowners the personalisation they want with the professional support they need. Control4 Smart Home OS 3 facilitates professional installation to make sure everything works together, while empowering families to make their smart home experience uniquely their own. “Thank you also to CEDIA for awarding our Smart Home OS 3 the Best New Software. We strongly believe that OS 3 sets a new standard for the smart home, with over 1,000 enhancements delivering less complexity whilst exceeding users’ expectations, and it is an honour for it to be recognised by the industry.”
