The Ogliari museum of transport This collection, which arose from the passion expert Francesco Ogliari, has now been transformed into the Ranco Museum of Transport. This one-of-a-kind venue allows visitors to stroll amongst railway cars and locomotives, on a journey through time that highlights all the progress that has been made over the past few centuries. This structure, which is located along the shores of Lake Maggiore, hosts a dynamic collection that, in the words of Ogliari himself, was born "from a love for transport, and the love of a lifetime cannot help but evoke strong emotions." The itinerary begins with "The age of the horse", and moves on to that of steam-power, electricity and the internal combustion engine. The tour continues with "The ascent to heaven" on the "Emmina", a historic diesel motor coach for rack railways built in 1932, up to the CittĂ Ideale (the "Ideal City"). This is undoubtedly the most impressive part of the park. The ideal city was inspired by the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, but was realized, with miniatures, lights and connections, by the passion and dedication of Francesco Ogliari himself. Along the open air pathways that lead through the various eras, visitors can admire the original means of transport and visit the leisure and work places of times gone by. But each era is mainly comprised of the individuals who experienced it. The atmosphere of every age is thus narrated by the specific details that document each context, including elegant clothing, workers' tools, everyday objects and even collectors' items. Throughout the tour, every corner of the museum is brought to life, revealing the work, ingenuity, dreams and sacrifices of the past, even with noises, sounds, symphony music and popular songs.
