Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week 2013

CCHSC helps shine a light on poverty, hunger and homelessness in the Lowcountry.


Prior to the start of HHAW, CofC students visited the agency to learn more about affordable housing in the lowcountry.


Staff members decked out in purple (the awareness color for homelessness) and orange (the awareness color for hunger) to bring more attention to the cause. We look forward to participating again next year!


Allison Napier, AmeriCorps VISTA for the College of Charleston Center For Civic Engagement, facilitates the SNAP Challenge kickoff. Several CCHSC employees participated in the SNAP Challenge.


A participant registers for the Community Action Poverty Simulation, a training that uses experiential exercises to create awareness and sensitivity for families living in poverty.
