We are very pleased to offer you a large volume event at this year’s Mountainview Bull Sale that encompasses a large diversity for all your bull shopping needs. The quality of the bulls is very impressive when analyzing the different contempory groups and the many different crossbreeding opportunities that will exist at this sale. Two-year-old and yearling Charolais, Black, Red & Fullblood Simmental, Red Angus and the newest member - Polled Herefords! The Mountainview Bull Sale is poised to be a shopping mall for all commercial producers -- one stop and you have all your herdsire shopping needs done.

In our Charolais division, the big string comes from Gerrard Cattle Co. who have made a successful marketing home at Mountainview. The yearling group from this fantastic herd are all, except one, amazingly created via embryo transplant! Not only do the sires read right, namely, Montezuma, Preacher, Big Sky and Firewater but look at the famous dams that continually show up on these 1/2 and full brothers. No doubt there are multiple breeder opportunities in this “tattoo’ group which will include extra age bulls that have similar and identical genetics to the Gerrard yearlings. We have seen the heavy, scale-crushing group of Foat Valley bulls at two past Mountainview Bull Sales and will see their largest group to date. This is an intentional true two-year-old program that is making a large committment to Mountainview as their inevitable exclusive marketing venue. Look for many of these beef-wagons to be weighing in excess of a ton! The McLeod family are true ambassadors to the breed and don’t run a large herd but attain a long time connection to the Charolais breed passed through three generations of family. The multiple champions created by this herd all over the North American continent is amazing! They are featuring the first “Prowler” sons in their elite group this year.

Our Simmental section has its largest group, as per norm, coming from the Bob Anderson family’s Tymarc Simmentals. Thick sons of Accelerator and the great TBone influence will be found here along with some calving ease Gunner sons. This is always one of the nicest strings of bulls to be found all spring. Growing within the event, and deservedly so, is the string from C Bar K. This young family has been working very hard at continually improving their product and it has been showing not only here but at the last two Ultimate Red & Black Sales. I encourage all other purebred Simmental breeders to analyze the depth and quality of pedigree these people have quietly created, even if you aren’t looking to necessarily buy one now, but to understand the quality genetics behind the cattle. They combine a nice mix of Bodybuilder, Zima and Black Joker. We also will have on board from some smaller strings that will include more quality Red & Black Simmental Bulls coming from customers who market most, if not all, of their cattle through TLC.
