Cell: 306-741-7485, Home: 306-784-2241, Email: castlerock.mktg@sasktel.net, Dean McAvoy: 306-612-3326 www.castlerockmarketing.com December means the end of the year in the livestock industry, but rather than a feeling of winding down, in the cattle industry we are just starting to wind up. An excellent fall has been cashed in and now as the sale season is winding down breeders tend to start looking forward in preparation of calving. Some new, exciting services will be coming to life in a few short months. The Touch of Class Sale offers one of the last opportunities of the year to attain breed-leading genetics from strong, progressive programs that work hard at producing cattle that will work and be profitable. We’ve been told it’s a sale that people look forward to as well, as it combines all that is important in the business, good people, good cattle and good fellowship! With that all involved in the Touch of Class Sale, consignors relish the opportunity to host their fellow breeders for an evening of selling cattle right off the top of their herds. On offer will be a great cross section of show prospects, bred heifers that might be the best set involved in a sale this fall, young cows that are just hitting their stride in their productive life. As well as the frozen section of embryos and semen, the live lots offer breed-leading genetics across the board. We will be on the sale site on December 11th. Should you have any questions regarding the offering please feel free to contact any of the consignors, sale staff, or Dean or myself at Castlerock Marketing. See you sale day!

Lot 1 Wilbar Tibbie 581B is the first daughter ever offered from our new herdsire, Wilbar Capacity 99Z. The Capacity daughters have a great deal of rib shape, mass and dimension. They have the style, presence and stature of their sire along with his great disposition. Tibbie 41T, was our pick out of the Diamond B Dispersal Sale. She is a big bodied, brood cow that produces consistently. Wilbar Tibbie 581B will be shown at Agribition. She is an absolute sweetheart and would be a perfect junior project. News Flash Wilbar Capacity, sire of Tibbie 581B, was just crowned Reserve Grand Champion Bull at the 2014 Farmfair International.

Lot 4 We are very high on this sweet heifer calf as she is out of one of our very best cow families. This own daughter of Black Cedar is long bodied and sweet fronted. The grand dam of this female is a tank of a cow and the great grand dam is a very good Leachman Right Time daughter that is still working nicely raising a bull calf for the bull pen this year. We strongly suggest this female could be a cornerstone in someone’s herd for a long time to come.

Lot 5 Beauty 87B is a deep volume and angular female. She comes from a gorgeous cow, 94W, which we are more than proud to show anyone who comes to our farm. 94W is a structurally sound, deep volume cow that would make you interested in her calves simply of how attractive she is. She has a very level and square udder. Beauty 87B has 3 maternal siblings and each one of them has found their way into a purebred herd, including our own. We are currently using a yearling bull of hers as a walking bull. The Beauty cow family was the first Black Angus one we owned. There is a long history of quality cattle coming out of this cow family. The Imprint cattle have been impressing us more and more in the past two years. The cattle are stylish, with ample shape, solid performance and very good temperament. Fifty percent of our 6 head being shown at Agribition are Imprints. We are excited about presenting this very solid female to you. She will be a productive addition to your herd. She is halter broke and will make an awesome junior project.

Lot 6 It is amazing that you really never know how good a bull is until he is dead or gone. That is truly the case with Alliance 36S the maternal grand sire of Tibbie 89B. He is one of those bulls that I wish we had far more females in our herd from him. If my crystal ball was working better I would have not sold any of his daughters. They all have terrific udders and feet and have been highly productive for us. Toss in a splash of Tibbie, Quantum and then mix in some of the new sire, Role Model and you have a fantastic female in 89B. I really appreciate the growth, style and structure of this future front pasture cow. She is halter broke and would make an awesome junior project.

She is an ET daughter of the great Red Head Cora 159L who is also the dam of the $75,000 Wilbar Cora 443P at Wildcat Creek, OK and Cockburn, SK and granddam of Cockburn Ribeye 308U. We are also using a son of 443P called Wilbar Speed. The Off Topic daughters are a very impressive group of females. Style, presence, hair and great dispositions would sum them up. FRASER FARMS

Lot 15 This is our first year at the Touch of Class sale as a consignor and we aren’t here to disappoint. A dark red female out of our Roughrider Bull. He is a son of Bieber Roughrider out of Brylor’s Ramba 2F donor cow. He was a feature in the Brylor sale a few years ago. He has left a great set of calves again this year. 982W is a daughter of the Formation bull that we purchased from Sebastien. He left great females that are really starting to shine in our herd. This calf will impress many.

Lot 16 Many have commented on the capacity these Ghost Rider 108Y daughters have while maintaining their length of body. Get in behind Maggie 27B and the first thing you may notice is her wide base that carries right up to her topline. She has an excellent coat of hair and stands square on a good foot. Her dam Maggie 323X was purchased as second high selling bred female at the Double - C Heart of the Herd female sale. Herdsman Gordon Murray owns 323X but she is under lease to WRAZ and sells backed by the WRAZ program – the program you can count on!

Lot 35 Here is a heifer from the heart of our herd and very hard to part with! We have two full sisters here and they produce top calves time after time. Allison’s dam is a tremendous cow that is hard to fault. Her sire is HEMI who was a top ten finalist in the RBC Supreme at Agribition. HEMI sons continue to top our bull sale each year. The service sire is a low birth weight bull with lots of performance that we purchased at MJT Bull Sale. This heifer has a great future and just might be carrying your next herd sire!! A big, deep sided, long spined female sired by our Minburn Main Event 40W herd sire. Main Event has done a fantastic job here with his birth numbers in the Top 15% of the breed and yet his yearling weight number staying in the Top 10% of the breed. His first daughters just finished raising their first calves and all have very nice udder quality. Lady 61’13’s dam is an Elite cow in the Canadian Herdbook. She herself is a beautiful looking female with a supper udder. Storbeo Farm of Beechy made a maternal sister their first ever Black Angus female purchased in the 2011 Touch of Class sale. She is also AI bred to our high selling Windy son and exposed to the high selling bull in our 2010 sale a tank of a Duration son. Lot 42 Here is a female that I am very pleased to offer. I purchased her dam Maggie 301X as lead off female in the Double C – Heart of the Herd female sale in Dec 2012. She was my pick of the bred females on offer and her daughter 100Z was also my pick of the heifer calves that day. 301X was bred to Red WRAZ Premiere 95X a bull we really thought a lot of that Cameron had purchased in our 2011 bull sale. Maggie 107A is the result of this mating. I believe 107A is the right kind to provide an excellent ROI for her new owner. She is structurally correct and stands on the kind of foot you can build your herd around. She really grabs your eye with tremendous capacity and rib shape as well as real nice udder development. She is bred to the $15,000 half interest Red Baker’s Rider Pride. We used him on both cows and heifers last year and the calving ease was excellent so he ran with all heifers this year. Exposed April 30 to August 1/14 to Red Baker’s Rider Pride 100Z – Preg checked August 25/14 to be at least 3 months by Dr. Henry McCarthy.

Lot 43 This daughter of Sitz Upward has done nothing but impress me in her eye appeal, performance, feminine front end and structural development. I believe she will make an excellent, highly productive brood cow. Socialite 86A is halter broke and has an excellent temperament. She is bred to calve at the beginning of January to the calving ease sire Connealy Thunder. These calves come out easy, have a tremendous will to live and really grow into solid bulls and amazing females. She was exposed to Skye Brooke New Fly 29Z from June 1st to September 15th.
