Donation Heifer & Herdsire Prospect We decided that if we were going to donate a heifer as a fundraiser for the Canadian National Shorthorn Show and the SK Shorthorn Association, we would donate a heifer from the very top end of our replacements. This heifer has been one of our favorites all year and she is the first we selected to be in our 2014 Agribition show herd. Her dam is a great producing female that combines the Australian legend, Weebollabolia Theodore T85 and the Melita Rose cow family that has written many volumes of breed history not only at Waukaru but around the world. Waukaru Melita Rose 7048 will be entering our ET program next spring and you will understand why when you see this heifer. She is thick, moderate framed and sound in every way. Unfortunately, her sire Bar Code is now gone and this heifer is his last progeny born here. She is absolutely one of his best!

Donation Heifer Auction Procedure

The final bid in each round will denote the amount of that bidder’s donation. Example: Round 1 - Final bid is $300.00 to John Doe, John’s donation is $300.00. Round 2 - Final bid is $250.00 to Tom Jones, Tom’s donation is $250.00. Round 3 - The female is re-auctioned on a downward scale until no further bids are received at the low of $10.00. Each $10 purchased (donated) represents one chance in the final draw. (John Doe has 30 chances, Tom Jones has 25 chances and so on down the scale to the final $10.00 donation worth on chance each.) One ticket for every $10.00 bearing the contributor’s name will be put in the draw barrel. At the end of the sale, one ticket will be drawn with that person winning the heifer.

Prospector 10B is a solid red calf which has been a stand out since birth. He is very deep and well muscled with a great hind quarter. His dam is red with very good feet and an excellent udder. She comes from the renowned Four Point herd of Darrell Berg’s. His sire goes back to Ultimate 130K and Saskvalley Ramrod with a 86 lb birth weight. What more would a person want?

Herdsire Prospects You need to be pretty special to keep what you are born with around here, and from early on it was easy to see that Bogart 2B was one to impress. His dam is a first calf heifer who has done an amazing job. We are very excited as he has developed into a very promising future herd sire, and he has got the paperwork to back it up.

We are certain that you’ll like this bull! He is extremely well-muscled, strides out well and has a great disposition. His dam has an outstanding udder and walks on a great set of feet and legs. The Princess Daisy cow family has produced numerous Agribition entries for us. The sire, Journey 39Z, now in the herd of Peter Greeno of Amherst, Nova Scotia, is leaving a crop of calves with great muscle pattern and growth. Journey 39Z is backed by generations of great breeding of the Butterfield herd, including the likes of Loose Cannon and High Rigger. This bull calf will not disappoint!

Diamond Adelle Maid 13A is out of one of the very top producing cows in the herd. 14W’s first calf is working in a commercial herd. Her second calf is a full brother to 13A, Diamond Zeus 14Z, and he is a herd bull for Carol Dumont, Eagleview Shorthorns, B.C. This year’s calf is slated for the show string. Adelle’s grandam produced in the herd until 12 years of age. We feel this Glenford Captain 39X daughter will make a special addition to her new owner’s herd as Adelle combines many of our top producing bloodlines. She sells bred to Eionmor Piper 23Z and we have some excellent calves from this bull. They have had lighter birth weights and were easy calving. Exposed to Eionmor Piper 23Z from May 5 to July 28.

Foundation Females The decision to consign Tara 3A is one we may regret for some time. This being our first time consigning to the Agribition sale, we felt that we better impress. Out of a powerful, never miss, Nicol Laredo daughter and by Glenford Real World 14Y, she can fit into any herd and excel. Recently slapped for champion Shorthorn at the Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec regional 4H show. Also she was a class winner junior yearlings at Expo Bouef in Victoriaville. As an added attraction she is carrying the service of our exciting new herdsire Glenford Miner 32A. He’s been racking up the banners and qualified for the RBC Beef Supreme. What a calf this will be. Muridale Kinnalee 16B has caught the eye of quite a few visitors this summer. We feel she is one of our top heifer calves this year. Her mother is a daughter of Kinnaber Leader 9th, who was born in 1966. Her sire is a powerful looking bull that has left us a great set of calves. JSF Top Hand 34R has long been noted for his ability to transmit power and real muscle as evidenced by his successes on making the high profitability Shorthorn influenced steers in the Great State Feedout, where progeny continue to generate more dollars than even notable sires of many other breeds. However, if you have visited BSG or our partner Jungels Shorthorn Farm in North Dakota, you will agree that his greatest legacy will very likely be in his daughters and their maternal ability to raise the right kind year after year. Deceased with limited semen available for Canada.

DF Waco 6W has sired numerous Champions and top sellers all across North America and he is now gone, so there will not be many more opportunities to add his influence to your herd. Combining Waco with Sparkle Delight 2X ensures some excellent offspring. 2X already has proven herself to be a stellar producing female. At 4 years of age, she has already got embryos sold to Canada, USA, England, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. We will offer a minimum pregnancy rate of 50% at 70 days following implantation provided that an experienced embryo technician is used. That is, we guarantee the buyer will have a minimum of 2 pregnancies at 70 days. These embryos are exportable to most countries around the world. Elsie’s J-Lo 3T is a full sister to New Beginnings Elsie’s Jade who was one of our first donor cows and is still one of our all time favorite cows. She is still in our herd at 16 years of age and is still sound. 3T has been a great producing female here as well and we have sold embryos to several countries from her. This mating to Primo will result in some outstanding progeny, that are well muscled and very easy fleshing. Primo did a tremendous job in the Alta Cedar and Diamond herds in Alberta. With soaring cattle prices, embryos have become a great way to add new genetics to your breeding program at more economical prices. These embryos are exportable to most countries around the world. We will guarantee a minimum pregnancy rate of 50% at 70 days following implantation provided that an experienced embryo technician is used.
