A Message from Dietlinde Maazel,

Executive & Artistic Director No one could have set a more unsurpassable example of devotion to the Arts and Youth than our Founder, Mentor and Artistic Director, Lorin Maazel.

His dream is here to stay. The Maestro passed on the torch of music: the baton… to Principal Conductor Rafael Payare, Conducting Fellow Salvatore Percacciolo and the famed Maestro Fabio Luisi. From grand Classics to a World Premiere, new talents, renowned directors – and for the first time: JAZZ with the mesmerizing Wynton Marsalis Castleton’s energy will be more vibrant than ever. Welcome to a summer-long celebration at CASTLETON 2015!

“I am interested in opening up opportunities for young talent, but it is also critically important that we in the West develop young audiences. The Castleton Festival is not about me, it’s about them. With the Castleton Festival we have the opportunity to make a difference in our corner of the world.” - Lorin Maazel, Founder and Maestro
