In a hard fought battle Thursday night, Elizabethton Lady Cyclones sent the Lady Vikings packing on their own home turf during the 13th Annual "Doc" Maples Holiday Hoops Invitational. The win did not come easy for the Cyclones. They trailed the Vikings 25-12 early in the second quarter, and faced down imminent defeat with a 51-47 gap with only five minutes left to play in the final. It looked like the game was a wrap and loss when suddenly the Cyclones began to capitalize off of Viking turnovers on four of five possessions. Cyclone's Cara Bowling scored on a stick back and a 3-pointer while fellow teammate senior Chelsea Bowling converted a three-point play, lifting Elizabethton to a 55-51 edge with 3:20 on the clock. After a more than 20 year absence from the annual showcase, the Hampton Bulldogs made their presence felt again after defeating the team from Wasilla, Alaska. The Bulldogs hammered out an early first quarter lead that left the far away team far behind. This was in large part thanks to the huge contribution of teammate Dylan Ward who would send the ball to the net for 10 points of the 14 to 1 lead at the first. Photos By TriCities Captured

December 17, 2010 – Trailing in late in the game, the Patriots got a key defensive steal from Preston Dishner resulting in a Garrett Carter layup to tie the score, and David Casaday snagged an offensive rebound before feeding Ian Ollis for the go ahead layup, as the Patriots edged the Trojans 40-39. Chance Davis led East and all scorers with 14, while Carter put in 11, Ian Ollis added 6, and Casaday tossed in 9. Andrew Lee tallied a team best 10 points for the Trojans.
