ALUM BUDDY This Handbook is to provide information and support to buddies to help new postgraduates in the Department of Accounting settle into LSE. Alum Buddies are to share their knowledge, skills and experience to assist new students with any concerns regarding the welcome week.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME Alum buddies are voluntary but extremely rewarding and can benefit your own skills such as networking, representing the department and identifying key concerns.
HOW IT WORKS The Alum Buddy programme is an alum to new student advice programme for postgraduate programmes, offered by the department of accounting. Buddies will be made admin on the offer holder Facebook page and can start talking to offer holders. The aim is for buddies to help new students with settling in and direct them to the right support resources. 04

THINGS TO KNOW LSE Accommodation Each year, LSE Accommodation allocate accommodation to over 4000 students in our own halls, in University of London intercollegiate residences and in private halls. They can also help you find a privately rented place in London, and we offer short-term rooms in halls over the summer. More information visit LSE.ac.uk/accommodation
LSE Visa ISVAT is the International Student Visa Advice Team at LSE. They are responsible for providing immigration advice to international students, including EU/EEA/Swiss nationals, about studyrelated immigration in the UK. LSE.ac.uk/Immigration-advice

Student Status Documentation A certificate of registration provides proof to organisations, such as council tax offices, embassies and banks, that students are registered as a current student at LSE. For more information about what a certificate of registration shows visit lse.ac.uk/studentletters.

THINGS TO KNOW Regulations Students should familiarise themselves with the LSE regulations, policies and procedures that cover many aspects of student life. Some of the regulations explain the organisation and conduct of their academic study. These include information about the structure of your programmes, assessment and graduation and what to do if students face exceptional circumstances.
