Two pieces, part of a series of works using actual sand* on my own medical records* *The sand is from the place where the medical drama took form: the pacific coast of Guatemala. *The medical records document the ongoing dilemma that for the last few years -2008 to the present and beyond-, has plagued my very existence and is now a permanent companion; a medical journey that included multiple cardiac arrests, littered with extended comas and countless other ramifications. Mixed media: sand and acrylic on multiple 9” x 11” canvas. Total size of each: 27” x 55” (68.58 x 139.7 cm).
