Welcome Students . . .

To the 13th Annual Career Fitness and Internship Fair…

Thank you for joining Career Services and our 2009-10 Employer Partners: Connoisseur Media LLC, Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, EideBailly, St. Vincent Healthcare, KPMG, and EBMS.

In this directory, you will find employers that want to talk to you about

internships, full-time jobs, part-time jobs, new and exciting opportunities in

their field, and more. To make the most of Career Fitness Fair, be sure to: 

Know who is coming! See a list of employers in this directory AND online in CareerLink: www.myinterfase.com/msubillings/student. Go to “Career Events” to view employer profiles.

Send your résumé to Career Services: careers@msubillings.edu. Professionals will critique it so it is perfect and productive when you present it to employers at Career Fitness Fair.

Use the table of contents to find all companies at the fair that hire students in your field. Think outside the box—you never know who might be looking for a student with your degree!

Greet employers with a firm handshake and a smile. Dress appropriately to meet them—make a good first impression as a professional.

Sell yourself. Talk about what you can bring to an employer: communication, teamwork, organizational skills, a good attitude. These are skills and abilities that every employer wants in employees.

Ask employers about available internships—they give you experience you cannot get in a classroom.

Whether you are looking for an internship, a part-time or summer job, or your post-graduation career, the Career Fitness Fair is the perfect event to “shape up” your career. We hope you enjoy it! P.S. Remember to complete an event evaluation at the exit to enter the drawing for door prizes!

List your most recent job first. Use bullets to highlight actual duties, starting each duty with an “action” verb. In addition to work experience, include volunteer activities, academic projects, and internships. Include certificates or achievements.

Include job-related references or instructors rather than personal references. Be sure to provide their name & title, business name, city/state, daytime phone number, and email address. Drop off your résumé at Career Services in LI 100; we are happy to check it and have it ready for you the next business day.

Ask your references for permission to use their names and confirm their willingness to provide a positive recommendation.

 Avoid using “I” or complete sentences; concise bulleted content is user-friendly.

List specific courses, especially those showing technical skill.

 List your most recent education first; do not include high school.

Your objective statement should focus on a particular job, internship, or industry.

Be concise and professional. Keep the résumé to one page, if possible. Include a personalized letter of application that addresses your qualifications for the job you seek.

Use O*NET Online for content ideas at http://online.onetcenter.org/

Proofread to be sure the résumé is error free.

Our integrated, global IP-based network was designed for the convergence of voice, video and data, and delivers services virtually anywhere on the planet - quickly, securely, reliably.

Our more than 500 employees, most of whom grew up right here in Big Sky country, work hard to make sure their fellow Montanas have the electricity they need. And our employees have been at it a long time. They've been working at these generating facilities for an average of more than 19 years.

But more than that, we have a global team of telecommunications professionals dedicated to helping your business grow and succeed.

Caring for the environment. Supporting responsible economic development. Contributing to our communities. Providing Montana with reliable, competitively priced electricity. It's what PPL Montana does.
