2012-13 Canisius Student-Athlete Handbook

i. Shall sit in at all USA senate meetings ii. Shall be responsible for informing all SAAC members of both USA and CHOICES Grant events and progress iii. Shall be the chairperson from SAAC, sitting on the CHOICES Grant board.

Article IV: Meetings A. Frequency a. Meetings shall be held bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 9:00 pm. This meeting schedule is meant to be a guideline and is subject to change B. Location a. Meetings will be held in the Koessler Athletic Center C. Sub- Committees a. Sub-Committees will have additional meetings as needed, and will be called by each Sub-Committee.

D. Attendance a. Attendance is mandatory for all members. Alternates shall be notified as far as advanced as possible; one of the officers shall be notified at least 24 hours in advance. b. Attendance will be recorded and reported to coaches and SAAC members. After a second unexcused absence, the representative will be replaced by an alternate from their team. c. When a team representative cannot be present, the team’s alternative must be present.

E. General Student Body a. Any student of Canisius College may attend a SAAC meeting b. Any member of Canisius College may express any concerns regarding Canisius College students- athletes and their well-being at any scheduled meeting however, they must meet with the officers and staff supervisor before attendance at SAAC meeting. c. The General student body, however, will not be permitted to run for a position as a representative or an officer to the SAAC. Article V: Committees A. Standing Committees a. Secretary i. One (1) member shall be responsible for typing minutes and posting them on the SAAC ANGEL webpage b. Activities i. 8-10 members shall sit on this sub-committee. (* for all SAAC activities all SAAC members must be present) ii. Shall organize and coordinate activities with special organizations iii. Shall help coordinate SAAC sponsored events as well as other events by the athletic department c. Fundraising
