Deer Lake ADVENTURE BY CHOICE PROGRAM
Deer Lake has a unique program structure—Adventure by Choice! Girls make independent decisions on activities they want to participate in each afternoon. Activity choices may include specialty arts, music, swimming, canoeing or paddle boarding, the climbing tower, high ropes, archery, volleyball, fort or raft building, drama, or even hanging out in the “DL Zone” and more… the possibilities are endless! Girls will receive “Adventure Beads” for each different activity they try. Free choice activities are in addition to the unit program in which they are registered. (Note: Campers on field trips will not participate in free choice activities when they are out of camp.) Note: Grade means level entering in the Fall.
SIERRA FUN PROGRAMS Mountain Madness
Grades 4 – 12 Session 2A Fee $390 Crazy for some extreme summer fun? Then join us on the mountain for an amazing five day Alpine Adventure! Make individual choices on many of the activities you do. Maybe you’ll try the climbing tower, zip line, or stand up paddle boards on the lake! There’s always archery, swimming, funyaks, geocaching, fort building, outdoor cooking, and so much more. With fun-filled activities by day and starry skies at night, you’ll have the time of your life. So just choose your age group and team up with new friends. Fire Crackers!
Grades 4 – 6 Sessions 1, 2B, 3 Fee $520 Snap, crackle and pop! Get ready for your camp adventure to explode with summer fun! Scale the climbing tower, shoot archery, paddle the lake in a canoe, star search the night sky, spark your imagination in art, and so much more. It’s something new and different every day! Spend extra time learning new ways to cook over a fire and make tasty treats with your new camp friends. Help plan a special floating campfire too!
Splash On!
Grades 4 – 6 Sessions 2B, 4 Fee $535 Come on in—the water’s fine! Kick your feet, make a splash and have fun in our Alpine lakes! Play inner tube polo and games by funyaks, try stand up paddle boarding, have fun on the canoe slalom course and build team rafts to paddle around. Enjoy a floating lunch on beautiful Deer Lake and take a cool day trip to West End Beach on Donner Lake for a day of fun in the sun. Splish, splash you’ll be havin’ a blast!
Mooncatchers
Grades 4 – 6 Session 4 Fee $520 Starlight, star bright, what’s Deer Lake like at night? Become a DL Astronomer when you explore the night sky and look for amazing shooting stars. Glide over the sparkling water on a twilight canoe ride, make your own mooncatcher and create a dreamboat that you launch in the lake to carry your special wishes. With night hikes, sleep-in breakfasts and all the fun of daytime camp activities too, you and your new friends will be over the moon for Deer Lake!

Wilderness Girls
Grades 5 – 7 Sessions 2B, 4 Fee $520 Go wild at camp! Discover how to track wild animals, cook outdoors, make your own tools, build forts, lash chairs, and tell time by the sun. Learn wilderness techniques and survival skills that will give you a truly unique Deer Lake experience. Don’t mind a little dirt? Then grab your camp friends, come explore, and have an amazing wilderness adventure!
The Seeker Game
Grades 5 – 8 Sessions 1, 3 Fee $520 Mystery, intrigue and adventure are calling you to join the Adventure Seekers Game—Deer Lake style! With your new friends, work together to navigate a series of challenges from crossing the monkey vines or paddling the canoe slalom course to hitting a bulls-eye in the team archery relay. Each challenge will give you another clue and using your GPS device you’ll discover the location of hidden caches on this ultimate treasure hunt. Create your own cache for other adventure seekers to find while you have fun with all that Deer Lake offers!
Extreme Cuisine!
Grades 5 – 8 Sessions 1, 4 Fee $520 Outdoor cooking… adventure style! With your team of Extreme Chefs you’ll use different types of outdoor cooking methods, interesting ingredients and lots of imagination to prepare delicious dishes. What could you make using a dutch oven and pineapple? What if all you had was a tin can to cook with? Practice your chef skills and get ready for the ultimate cooking challenge when your mystery basket of surprise ingredients and equipment arrives for the team cook off. Create gourmet appetizers, entrees or desserts based on what you get and let our Camp Cooks choose their favorites. It’s cuisine extreme!
C.H.I.L.L.!
Grades 6 – 9 Sessions 1, 2B, 3, 4 Fee $520 Climb, Hang out, Imagine, Laugh, and make a splash at the Lake! Hook up with new friends and enjoy all the fun of this amazing camp when you make Deer Lake your own mountain retreat. Hang out by the waterfront, go swimming or take a funyak for a spin, get creative in art, try your hand at archery, or relax around the campfire sharing talks under starry skies. With so much to choose from, you and your friends will create the ultimate summer experience!
Day Trippers
Grades 7 – 12 Session 2 Fee $685 Session 4 Fee $595 Ride the gondola to High Camp at Squaw Valley for an amazing day hike on the mountain top or lace up your skates for some roller fun. Try your hand at stand up paddle boarding on Lake Tahoe, and relax in the sun at West End Beach at Donner Lake. Step aboard a 50-foot sailing yacht and cruise over the sparkling waters of Tahoe! Back at camp, the adventure continues as you paddle your way around Deer Lake, sleep under the stars, shoot some arrows on the archery range, and hang out with your new friends and so much more! Note: Campers in session 2 have two additional day trips out of camp.
