Mission The mission of Campbell University is to graduate students with exemplary academic and professional skills who are prepared for purposeful lives and meaningful service. The University is informed and inspired by its Baptist heritage and three basic theological and biblical presuppositions: learning is appointed and conserved by God as essential to the fulfillment of human destiny; in Christ all things consist and find ultimate unity; and the Kingdom of God in this world is rooted and grounded in Christian community. The University embraces the conviction that there is no conflict between the life of faith and the life of inquiry.

“Campbell prepared me in more ways than I ever imagined for the real working world. Having small class sizes really helped me easily communicate with my professors and colleagues. The staff truly cares about you and your future after Campbell. Having an internship was really beneficial, as it was a requirement for my double major that provided me with the experience of work outside of school and a behind-the-scenes look at the design world. I never thought I would have landed a job that I love so much after graduation!” — Kristen Radtke ’14

Homeland Security

Biology/Pre-Med

Trust and Wealth Management There is only one undergraduate trust and wealth management program in the nation

“I just returned from a three-month internship that I completed at US Golf Camps, which is a sleep-away golf camp. It was an incredible amount of work and an unbelievable learning experience. I learned more than I ever could have imagined and had an amazing experience. The PGA Golf Management degree program is one of the most amazing degrees offered by any university. If you’re looking to be one of the best, most respected golf professionals in the business once you graduate, there’s no other place you should be thinking about going.” — Max Bosco ’17

The pre-med biology program is designed to prepare students for admission to a wide range of graduate and professional programs. Upon graduation, Campbell alumni have gone on to earn the following degrees: ■ Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) ■ Doctor of Optometry (OD) ■ Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) ■ Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) ■ Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) ■ Master of Physician Assistant Practice (MPAP) ■ Medical Doctor (MD) ■ Medical Science/Doctorate graduate (MS/PhD) The courses within the biology program are ideal for students interested in careers within healthcare, teaching, government and private industry.

Pre-Pharmacy The pre-pharmacy program is designed to prepare undergraduate students to enter the competitive and prestigious Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program in our College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. This curriculum also prepares students for bachelor’s degree programs in pharmaceutical science and clinical research.

Nursing The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program provides students with the training and education necessary to enter the workforce as a registered nurse. With more than 1,000 nursing jobs open in areas near Campbell, the program meets a growing demand to serve a region of North Carolina, as well as other areas nationwide. The nursing program is the fifth new academic program related to the health sciences that Campbell has begun in four years.

Engineering Between 50 and 80 percent of job growth in the US is dependent on engineers and scientists, yet only 2.7 of all engineers in the US live and work in North Carolina, the 10th largest state in the nation. Campbell’s Board of Trustees has responded to the state’s urgent need for more engineers by approving a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree program, which is expected to begin in the fall of 2016. The program will train engineering generalists who will be highly employable as licensed professionals and be strong candidates to pursue advanced studies. Campbell will become only the second private university or college in North Carolina to offer an engineering degree.

Physical Therapy Program The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Campbell University focuses on an evidence-supported curriculum centered on the patient and clinical practice in rural healthcare. Students who complete the program will earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy and eligibility to become a candidate for initial licensure in the 53 jurisdictions recognized by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).

Priority Admission What happens after you’ve gone the distance in earning your undergraduate degree from Campbell University? You celebrate and keep going. Campbell undergraduates receive priority consideration for admission to our graduate and professional programs, which is an incentive that’s entirely too good to pass up.

Graduate Programs

Freshman Seminars

When it comes to graduate programs, there is no shortage of choices either—Campbell offers graduate programs in business, divinity, education, law, medicine, pharmacy and health sciences (clinical research, pharmaceutical sciences, physical therapy, physician assistant and public health).

The cornerstone of the First-Year Experience at Campbell University is the freshman seminar. All first-year students enroll in a seminar during their first semester. Seminars include: ■ BADM 100: students in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business ■ CUFS 100: students in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education ■ NURS 100: pre-nursing majors ■ PHAR 100: pre-pharmacy majors These freshman seminars introduce new students to the many resources and engagement opportunities that Campbell University offers. By providing timely information when it is most relevant, the freshman seminars support students throughout their transition to college. Freshman seminars are taught by caring faculty and staff who are committed to supporting new students. The BADM 100 and CUFS 100 classes utilize a peer mentor— an upper-class student who provides support and guidance for new students as they learn to navigate University processes.

First-Year Experience Campbell University recognizes that the first year is unique and fundamental to establishing students’ commitment to higher learning. The Office of the First-Year Experience provides support and resources for the intellectual and social transition of new students by offering courses and programs that foster engaged learning and participation in the Campbell University community. During the first year at Campbell, students participate in a variety of traditions including the Medallion Ceremony, Camel 101, First-Year Forums, Connections and the First-Year Block Party. Programs and initiatives are intentionally placed throughout the year to provide support for new students as they transition from high school to college.

Honors-Level Learning The Honors Program provides an intellectually challenging environment, urging you to develop academically, socially and civically through interdisciplinary studies. You will have the opportunity to earn academic credit through apprenticeships, special programs, the honors disciplinary minor, internships and study abroad.

The Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program The National Science Foundation (NSF) provides funding for the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program. Students who are accepted into the program are paid to participate in graduate-level research for ten weeks during the summer. Many of Campbell’s students have been accepted into REU programs at universities across the country.

“My husband and I were blessed to receive an internship offer from Wells Fargo. We interned at Wells Fargo’s Las Vegas Trust Center. “I went to New Zealand the first semester of my junior year, and the study abroad staff was incredible in helping me accomplish that goal. I feel so much more culturally aware, not only about New Zealand, but about my own country. I’ve become more confident and my style of traveling has changed; I like doing my own thing and wandering rather than doing things by tours. My experience made everything in life much more conquerable.” — Katie Billheimer ’14
