CGS Friends of Baseball

Page 1

Friends Of Baseball Baseball is an inclusive game of skill, intellect and statistics. Friends of Baseball was formed by an enthusiastic group of parents who hope to encourage this winter sport, which was first offered at CGS in 2016. Friends of Baseball aims to assist in the development of the sport for our sons, coaches, and their families by providing meaningful support whenever required. Our CGS teams are affiliated with and play within the North Balwyn Baseball Club (NBBC) structure. The club’s home ground is located at Myrtle Park in North Balwyn and the Camberwell Grammar sides compete against other baseball teams within the Melbourne Winter Baseball League. Friends of Baseball works directly with the CGS Director of Sport and NBBC representatives to organize opportunities outside of school hours to help all our players improve their baseball skills. It also aims to introduce and expand upon the knowledge and nuances of the game for students, staff and parents. The committee welcomes parent volunteers to become involved in many ways: assisting in pre- and post-game field set up, learning to score the game, and general cheer squad duties. Friends of Baseball aims to bring together and grow the CGS Baseball community through regular social events. In addition, it assists in the purchasing and subsidizing of additional equipment, training and presentation materials. Being part of Friends of Baseball is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the game, meet other families and support our boys and coaching staff. We would love to hear from any parents willing to participate at any level.
