High School Ministry

2012-2013

Dear Parents and Students, Welcome back to HSM UNITED, Calvary’s ministry for high school students. I am very excited for this upcoming year. We have had a great summer and saw God work in and through our students, several even had the opportunity to lead a friend to Christ! I am sure the months ahead will be even better. This year we have three major teaching series going on. We will kick the fall off with a series entitled “5 SOLAS.” In this series we will be rediscovering the doctrines that shook the world during the protestant reformation. Students will learn that scripture alone is our final authority (Sola Scriptura), Jesus alone is our Lord and Savior (Solus Christus), that we are saved by grace alone (Sola Gratia) through faith alone (Sola Fide), and that everything was made for the glory of God alone (Soli Deo Gloria). The “5 SOLAS” teaching series will be followed by a series entitled “_______ for the glory of God.” In this series we will discover God’s purpose for the things in our lives. We will discuss God’s purpose for things such as music, relationships, family, education, sports, etc. Also, please be in prayer as we will also cover the topic of sex in this series. Please pray that God will grant us wisdom as we address this sensitive subject. Finally, in the spring we will have a series covering the parables of Jesus. We kick off HSM UNITED this fall on September 9, and we’ll meet in room 108 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm (same time, same place all year). During this time we experience worship, teaching and community in small groups. We have a number of other great things happening that you can read about in the calendar below and at calvarystudents.com. I am really excited about our teaching series as well as the retreats and events we have coming up. Please don’t hesitate to call or email with questions. I love the opportunity to meet with parents and students and would love to grab lunch or coffee to get to know you or your son/ daughter better. Soli Deo Gloria, Aaron Bolduc High School Pastor 5 SOLAS
