74 • Art Munoz Offensive Line • 6-2 • 275 • Senior • Santa Ana, CA • Valley High School A starter for eight games at right tackle on the offensive line last fall ... expected to start at same position this fall ... fractured his leg in second game of 2009 season at Ohio and missed spring ball in 2010. 2010 -- Earned second-team All-Great West Conference honors as a junior ... helped Cal Poly to No. 4 national ranking in rushing offense, No. 38 in scoring offense and No. 44 in total offense ... Mustangs also were No. 16 in both time of possession and sacks allowed. 2009 -- Started first two games of season at right tackle on the offensive line before fracturing his leg at Ohio and missed rest of campaign ... did not play in 2010 Spring Game ... granted a medical redshirt. 2008 -- Started 10 of the 11 games as a sophomore, missing the Idaho State contest ... played on offensive line that gave up just nine sacks in 11 games and helped offense to No. 1 in the nation in scoring offense and total offense, No. 3 in rushing offense and No. 17 in time of possession. 2007 -- Played in nine of the 11 games as a redshirt freshman, including starts against Weber State and Western Oregon ... was a backup to Mike Porter and Jason Cox at strong-side tackle. 2006 -- Redshirt. High School -- Anchored the offensive and defensive lines under head coach Carl Swanstrom at Valley High in Santa Ana, helping the Falcons to a second-place Orange League finish, 4-6-1 overall mark and a berth in the CIF-Southern Section playoffs … on defense, Munoz recorded 83 total tackles, including 14 for lost yardage and five sacks …. also intercepted a pass and scored one touchdown … was named defensive player of the year in the Orange League in 2005 and is a three-time All-Orange League selection, also earning team MVP honors twice … played in the 2006 Orange County All-Star Game … also lettered in track and field (shot put, discus). FCS Polls The College Sporting News Coaches and Sports Network Media preseason polls were to be released in late August, but Cal Poly will open the 2010 football season ranked No. 11 in the Southern Pigskin.com poll and No. 13 in the FCSnow poll. Cal Poly was ranked as high as No. 13 during the 2010 regular season and finished No. 23 in the Sports Network media poll and No. 24 in the FCS Coaches poll. In 2009 Cal Poly was ranked from No. 12 to No. 29 in the preseason polls, but was not ranked in any final poll. The Mustangs were ranked from No. 6 to No. 13 in the various preseason polls in 2008 and were ranked as high as No. 3 in the coaches and media polls before settling for No. 8 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 10 in The Sports Network’s media poll. In 2007, Cal Poly was ranked as high as No. 10 during the regular season and finished No. 24 in the Sports Network poll. The Mustangs finished the 2006 season ranked 16th in The Sports Network poll and No. 14 in the College Sporting News poll. Ranked as high as No. 3 in 2005, the Mustangs settled for a No. 6 final ranking. Cal Poly was ranked No. 17 by The Sports Network and No. 16 by ESPN/USA Today in 2004. Prior to that, Cal Poly's highest ranking was No. 14 after winning its first three games in 2003. Cal Poly was ranked No. 16 in the final poll of the 1997 season, finishing 10-1.
