North Logan Pumpkin Walk “Charming” and “Magical” are the best two words that describe the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. This annual fall event features hundreds of pumpkins, creatively used in more than 35 scenes depicting favorite characters, historical moments, current events, stories, movies, music and more. It’s really fun at night when the scenes are lit up! In addition, several hundred carved pumpkins line the paved path through the scenes. This year’s theme is “Let the Games Begin.” Pumpkin Walk goers will be treated to depictions of games like checkers, Clue, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and Battleship; card games; video games like Just Dance, and even a book — The Hunger Games.

If you had 48 hours in Utah to do anything, what would that be? Take a nap, go backpacking into the Uintah Mountains, take another nap.
What is the best part of living in Utah? Great People! Parents who love and support their kids, and the amazing talent I see that comes from that support every day!
What is the best part of being the founder and artistic director of Odyssey Dance Theatre? The journey—or Odyssey, if you will—of creating something special.
Where are most of your performers from? Eighty percent of the company dancers come from Utah. We also audition in New York and Los Angeles every year, but Utah dancers still kick their butts!
What goes into preparing for Thriller? A lot of great help and support. Organizationally, it’s something that has been developed over the years, so we’ve discovered how to maximize our time, efforts and organization to prepare two companies at the same time.
As a choreographer and director, Derryl has worked professionally in ballet, Broadway, film, music videos, and numerous television shows. He has taught at two major universities and was artistic director for the BYU Theatre Ballet for two years. He has choreographed numerous successful ballets with several professional companies and has been the production choreographer for the Utah Shakespeare Festival—winner of the Tony Award for best regional theater in the year 2000. As founder and artistic director of Odyssey Dance Theatre, Derryl brings all of his talents and experience to create an exciting, innovative and entertaining company that produces works that range from the timely to the timeless.
What is it about Thriller that has made it such a popular Halloween tradition for so many locals? Great dancing, a lot of sick Halloween humor, and pieces that audiences love to come to see year after year!

Is it a movie theater? Is it a Costco? What about a really large office building? Nope, it is Scheels— the only place you can buy powerhouse fashion brands and ride a Ferris wheel all at the same time.
When you hear the name Scheels, you may think of sports gear, and you’d be right. But, as I recently discovered, there is so much more to the store, including shooting games and simulators for the men in your life, a playground, aquarium and Dance Dance Revolution for the kiddos, and half a floor of purses, accessories, dresses and jeans just for you. This October, let me introduce you to Scheels, our newest all-in-one store featuring women’s fashion and an accessory wall to die for. Did I mention Mode Blue, their denim specialty shop? When buying the perfect pair of jeans at Mode Blue or any jean shop, there are a few rules to keep in mind. First, don’t shop by size. Each brand will wear slightly different, so tying yourself
to one size in different cuts will result in a poor fit. Instead, look for a style that works for your body type, and then buy two pairs (one to wear with flats and one to wear with heels). I’d recommend looking at Scheels’ Lucky selection as their medium rise, medium width straight and slightly boot cut jeans do wonders for women’s figures. If you’re looking to hide some winter roundness, check out their Silver Jeans. This brand’s styles have around two percent spandex for a skimming shape and are usually less ornate. October 1–31 // Odyssey Dance Theatre’s Thriller VARIOUS LOCATIONS Odyssey Dance Theatre proudly presents the smash hit Thriller. If this Halloween show isn’t part of your yearly Halloween tradition, it should be. This spooky performance combines technical aspects of dance while paying homage to the stars of All Hallows’ Eve. Throughout the two-hour program, Thriller highlights all the heroes of the season, including Frankenstein’s monster and his bride, skeletons, mummies and werewolves. Catch performances at the Egyptian Theatre in Park City September 28–October 7, Weber State University October 5–6, Covey Center for the Arts in Provo October 10–13, Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake City October 10–30, Utah State University October 19–20, and at Tuacahn October 24–31.
Oct 1–31 // Provo Riverboat Ride LOWER pROVO RIVER Come enjoy an autumn adventure with a festive riverboat ride on the lower Provo River. There are over 100 pumpkins reflecting off the water, with a scary story and song. A pirate even attacks the boat and ends up handing out candy. There are two professional excursion boats that can accommodate up to 40 people each. The ride is a round-trip experience that takes approximately 25 minutes, with departures every 15–30 minutes.
