Soccer (Women’s) By the numbers: • 6 Women’s Soccer alumnae donated to Cal Athletics • 47 donors designated their gift to Women’s Soccer Record: 12-6-4 Pac-12 Finish: 5-4-2/6th NCAA Finish: Second Round Cal won 12 matches — its most since 2007 — and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. The Bears, who climbed as high as No. 11 in the national rankings during the year, knocked off Santa Clara on the road in the opening round of the NCAAs and nearly advanced to the third round of the tournament, falling to No. 16 Boston College in penalty kicks. Despite missing half the season with a leg injury, senior forward Katie Benz led Cal’s offense with 10 goals and three assists. Four Bears earned All-Pac-12 honors — Danielle Brunache, Betsy Hassett, Lauren Battung and Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick — and a record 13 individuals were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, with Hassett also gaining NSCAA Scholar All-American recognition.

Softball By the numbers • 16 Softball alumnae donated to Cal Athletics • 106 donors designated their gift to Softball, an increase of 54% over FY11 Record: 58-7 Pac-12 Finish: 21-3/1st NCAA Finish: T3rd In many ways, Cal posted the best season in program history, setting school records for overall (58) and conference (21) wins on its way to the Pac-12 title. Cal ended the year in the semifinals of the Women’s College World Series. Ranked No. 1 in the country for 13 weeks, Cal earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and claimed both the regional and super regional titles in Berkeley. Valerie Arioto was tabbed the Pac-12 Player of the Year, Jolene Henderson repeated as the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year, and Diana Ninemire was voted Pac-12 Coach of the Year. Arioto and Henderson were also named first-team All-Americans, with outfielder Jamia Reid on the second team. 12
