artpostalın sağ köşesinde görülen ev, Atatürk'e ev sahipliği yapmış olması ve Mersin Belediye Başkanı Mithat Toroğlu'na ait olması nedeniyle önemli.
0-23 Mayıs 1938 tarihinde Mersin'e yaptığı son ziyareti sırasında Atatürk, geceleri Vali Konağı'nda kalırken, denize girmek üzere plaj köşküne gittiği bir gün, Mithat Toroğlu'nun kartpostalda görülen bu evinde konuk ediliyor [12].

entin fiziksel gelişimine yönelik planlama çalışmaları için girişimde bulunan dönemin belediye başkanı Mithat Toroğlu, 1930'lu yıllardan itibaren başta Ankara olmak üzere pek çok Anadolu kenti için şehir planı yapan Alman şehirci Prof. Dr. Hermann Jansen'i Mersin'de konuk ediyor.

9 Kasım 1937 tarihinde, Doğu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu gezisinden dönerken Mersin'e uğrayan Atatürk'ü, istasyonda Vali Rüknettin Nasuhioğlu ile birlikte Mithat Toroğlu karşılıyor ve inşa edilmekte olan Vali Konağı'na götürüyor. Burada, Prof. Jansen'in hazırladığı şehir planını inceleyen Atatürk, planın dikkatle uygulanması gerektiğini söylüyor [13].

he house on the right side of the picture is prominent in two ways. First, it had the honor to host Atatürk, and second, its owner is Mithat Toroğlu, who is the major of Mersin between 1929 and 1942.

tatürk was staying in Governor's Mansion when he is in Mersin, but he is hosted in this house when he went to swimming during his visit to Mersin between 20th and 23rd of May in 1938 [12].

ithat Toroğlu is a distinct major, who dealt with the physical development of Mersin and thought to have an urban plan for the future of the city. He invited Prof. Hermann Jansen, who prepared the first urban plan of the young Turkish Republic, for the capital Ankara, afterwards prepared many other plans for Anatolian towns.

ithat Toroğlu welcomes Atatürk with Governor Rüknettin Nasuhioğlu at 19th of November in 1938 in Mersin, returning from his visit to Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia and took him to Governor's Mansion that is being constructed. There, Atatürk examines urban plans, prepared by Hermann Jansen and notices that plans should be implemented carefully [13].
