Mechanics Theatre

2016 marks 30 years since Burnley Mechanics was re-opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth as the town’s premier new entertainments venue. In the years that have followed the Mechanics have been honoured to host some of the world’s finest talent from all realms of the performing arts. The highly acclaimed Burnley International Blues Festival helped to ensure the Mechanics international status as a unique and bustling venue and partnerships with local societies ensure that the town’s gifted performers have a stage on which to entertain.

Burnley Mechanics is a tribute to the people of Burnley, people who backed the rebirth when it was most needed and have supported the arts and entertainments so well throughout its history. Recent refurbishments have seen the development of a bistro and a second, more intimate entertainment space meaning we can bring a greater variety of acts to Burnley going into the future, here’s to another 30 years of great entertainment!
