Celebrate the Botanical Gardens! What a beautiful summer! We hosted many successful exhibits and events including Nature’s Kaleidoscope, Starry Night in the Garden, the Garden Art Sale, Botanics & Brews, Tasting Tuesdays and many more! Each brought a different audience to the Botanical Gardens and the excitement was infectious. To add to an already full summer, Morty and Fester (our Corpse Flowers) decided to bloom two weeks apart. The uniqueness of their blooms brought a very curious crowd to the Botanical Gardens wanting to know more about them and other “residents” from our horticulture collection. Mother Nature is truly amazing! This fall we have exciting events and exhibits planned. The Mum Exhibit & 4-H Farm will take place September 15 - October 14. Don’t miss your chance to see the beautiful colors of fall at 118th Mum Exhibit and visit with 4-H families and their animals. A special thank you to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County and 4-H for collaborating with us for this fun family exhibit. Our annual Gala at the Gardens is September 21. As our biggest fund-raiser of the year, the Gala welcomes over 400 guests for an elegant and fun event to celebrate our successes. Our much loved Poinsettia and Railway exhibit will have a woodland theme this year and promises some whimsical surprises. We are also very pleased to have welcomed many new clients this year. These clients utilized the Botanical Gardens for corporate parties, picnics, team building events, meeting and more. Clients include; Ingram Micro, Catholic Health, Delaware Center for Horticulture, Empire State College, University of Buffalo and many more. If you are interested in renting the Botanical Gardens for a private function, please contact our events department at 827.1584 ext. 220 or events@buffalogardens.com. A special thank you to all of our donors, sponsors, community partners and volunteers for helping to create meaningful programs, fun new events and an enhanced visitor experience.

Bequests are the simplest way to leave a gift to the Botanical Gardens. A bequest can be an unrestricted gift that will allow us to apply the gift where the need is greatest. A bequest can also be designated for a specific purpose. If you are considering a restricted bequest, please contact us so we can discuss your ideas before you finalize your gift. Succulent Dish Garden - Don’t worry - no prickly cacti are involved in this activity, instead we study succulents! Succulents are desert plants that store water in their leaves. Each student will create an open garden space in a tray with these thornless plants, while learning about plant adaptations and desert biomes.
