Universal Defiance, Book Two When Lisa and her son are rescued from a military prison, one look at the genetically altered mercenary who carries her to freedom puts some racy ideas into her head. Dixie is strong, handsome and kind, an unfamiliar combination. Her job as a government geneticist usually sends men running, not rushing to her aid. Unfortunately Dixie isn’t alone. Lisa’s ex, Ben, is another member of the Coalition, the band of rebels fighting against the government that locked up Lisa. After their split two years ago, she never thought she’d have to face his scorn again. But now she has to work with him without giving in to old temptations. Or so she thinks. REVIEW: Lisa, one of the Government’s top genetic scientists, who finds herself in a bit of a situation. She has been incarcerated in one of the Government’s high security centers and her young son, Nate was taken from her. Recently, the Coalition organized a rescue of sorts, organized by Steve Dixie (Dixie for short…), to rescue Lisa and her son but why? Lisa learns that one of the rescue team members is Ben. Ben is not only someone from her past but Nate’s father as well. What happens when he discovers about Nate? Both Ben and Dixie are genetically enhanced soldiers created by the Government but are with the Coalition rebels. Lisa has discovered a cure NB-7 vaccination need for the dependence for all genetic enhanced soldiers... Lisa becomes close to both Ben and Dixie and arrangement of sort is dealt. But what? This was an enjoyable futuristic sci-fi story packed with action, adventure and so much more. The book was well written with unique and unexpected twists and turns that was captivating and entertaining book to read. Be warned this is a ménage book with passionate scenes that were interesting to say the least. | Reviewer: Beckey White |
