| The Heat Diva | to bring us a venue, a means of an out, if just for a few chapters. If you are like me, you don’t want sweet and romanticized, you want hot, you want the chase, let’s get a little dirty. Bring it on! In this day and age with our busy lives the way they are, with some of us having work, school, and families, time for reading is precious. Finding it is almost like finding a hunky shifter standing on your front porch (let me know where you live should this happen). I hope that each of you try to find a bit of time no matter how little. Should you be lucky enough to find a small bit, maybe Nighttides (Bolero Books— available now) might be you answer. Ten authors, ten stories to raise your temperature. Almost all have HEAs and lots of heat. Each story is a stand-alone with no author invading the other, quick reads so that you can have your cookie and move on to your next pre-planned event in life. They are really cool too. You have your old loves and your boss falls in love with the nanny as well as a crazy shy girl falls for the library guy. There is only one that goes off the cliff, but you will have to read the book to find out which one it is. Oh, and did you just hear about the Twilight vampires to our computer screens for five short films! Do you want to bury yourself in a wolf shifter book or with a vampire that doesn’t sparkle? I swear I couldn’t believe the news myself. V.A. Dold actually has an indie series, the Le Beau Brothers, with two 98 | btsemag.com

books out right now. The first is Cade; man is he hot! I wouldn’t mind running my fingers down that chest. Oops! Manners. He is the first brother looking for his mate in New Orleans. Of course he just happens to be a billionaire and loves big beautiful women. Her second book follows Simon, the next brother who finds his mate. Oh, to be in these books. I swear the yummy factor is right up there with chocolate! As for a vampire that doesn’t sparkle, I have one that not only doesn’t sparkle, but also kills and drinks blood. Yes! The Mortal One by Shannon Bell (Indie book— available now) is so hot! Her vampire, Nico, drinks blood and can drink me anytime. I really don’t know what one thing gave this book the heat factor. Maybe it was picturing how hot Nico was through the entire book. (Amazing cover art!) Or maybe it was the passion between Dylan and Nico, or heck, maybe it was knowing that Nico actually tried to kill Dylan, and that first kiss was so freaking hot. Damn, if I can pinpoint it. Any way you look at it, this book is full of hot vamps! What? Vampires and shifters don’t really move you to the next level? Then put on your fanciest orange dress, and maybe you will be noticed by the one and only Blake Law Barrington. He just happens to be the billionaire banker in Georgia Le Carre’s, Owned (Billionaire Banker, #1, Indie book—available now). He will show you who the dominant one is. He will make you his little doll. He will dress you how he chooses, feed you what
