BBC Symphony Orchestra’s Chief Conductor Jirˇí Be˘ lohlávek comes to Strathmore with a program exploring heroes in music. From Beethoven’s overture about a legendary Roman general to Dvorˇák’s tone poem on Shakespearean tragedy, the evening bristles with daring and destiny. Famed pianist Garrick Ohlsson joins the BSO in Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto, taking the composer’s own favorite role as heroic soloist.
