7|52 Challenge On Sunday, January 4th, The Stewardship Team will be announcing a plan to help pay off our current debt of $140,000. As of this printing, we have reduced the principal amount owed on our loan by $4,128 by paying additional principal only payments in October and November, when we only owed interest payments at the time. Now, that our regular monthly payments of $1,474 have begun, we all need to work together so we can eliminate this debt for good. Will you prayerfully consider taking part in this $7|52 Challenge? More details will be announced on Sunday, January 4th. I look forward to seeing you there. God Bless!

Welcome to the New Year & to New Opportunities for You Have you ever uttered the phrase, “Well it won’t do any good” to yourself? Usually, this is the response made by many of us when we are asked to invite someone to church or when we consider trying to talk to someone about God. How much further from the truth can we be? Inviting someone to church, talking to someone about God will do good! It can do no other than good! Why, you ask? Because it is what God requires! The reason behind our erroneous response is that we think God requires ‘results’ from us in the form of numbers and success stories. The only thing required of us is ‘effort’ and lots of it. Paul said of the establishment and growth of the church at Corinth, “I planted, Apollos watered and God gave the increase (1 Cor. 3:6).” Continued on Page 4

Continued from Page 1 Planting and watering are all duties of all God’s children, no matter your age or stage in life.... the increase (results) is God’s business, not ours. If we are diligent about our work, God is faithful in His. Far too often we get discouraged when God does not give us the increase we expect. We become lax in our efforts to plant and water the seed, the word of God. To combat this mindset in our lives, Paul wrote: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9). So the next time you have the opportunity to invite someone to church or talk to someone about God, don’t think of it in terms of wasted effort just because you think it won’t do any good. Work, teach, invite, encourage and love people where they are in life & encourage them to grow in their relationship to God. Remember: “Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
