► MATCH 16: BRONCOS STUN AZTECS SAN DIEGO - Kati Lucas’ sixth goal of the season was all the Boise State women’s soccer team (6-9-1, 1-3) needed to defeat preseason favorite San Diego State. The Broncos’ 1-0 win gave the team its first conference points as a member of the Mountain West. Lucas put away the game-winner in the 52nd minute when she got behind the Aztec back line and fired a shot that bounced off the left post and ricocheted into the net. The score was the senior forward’s second game-winning goal of the season. Though the Broncos were outshot by San Diego State, they were efficient, as Lucas’ goal was one of the team’s two shots on goal. Liz Ruiz played all 90 minutes in goal for Boise State, where she notched the win in shutout fashion. The match marked the 27th win of her career and sent her past Kim Parker as

► MATCH 17: BRONCOS CAPTURE BIG WIN TO START HOMECOMING WEEKEND BOISE, Idaho - In a playoff-like atmosphere, the Boise State women’s soccer team notched a 2-1 victory over TCU at the Boas Soccer and Tennis Complex. The two teams were tied in the conference standings with three points apiece coming into the match. The Horned frogs were the first get on the board with a goal from their leading scorer, Jordan Calhoun in the sixth minute. Calhoun got in behind the Bronco back line after getting a ball from Brooke Kviz and fired a shot from 30 yards out that got flew over the head of Boise State goalkeeper Liz Ruiz. Though the Broncos were down, they were not out. Boise State controlled much of the first half after the goal, as evidenced by a 17-4 shot advantage. One of those shots found the back of the net off the foot of Ashley Hruby. The setup came on a Boise State corner kick taken by Shannon Schueren that was deflected at the far post and bounced through traffic to the middle of the box where Hruby connected with a left-footed strike past the keeper for the first goal of her Bronco career.

After coming out of halftime tied at 1-1, Boise State would find its second goal a little over 10 minutes into the second period. Erica Parks created the situation, driving into the TCU defensive third where she was fouled inside the penalty box. Senior Kati Lucas was selected to take the penalty kick and drilled the shot past the keeper just inside the right post. The goal was her seventh of the season and her third gamewinning goal of the season, both of which lead the team. The Broncos finished with 23 shots and 13 shots on goal while the Horned Frogs took 10 shots, only two of which were on frame. ► MATCH 18: BRONCOS DROP MATCH AGAINST NEW MEXICO BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women’s soccer team (710-1, 2-4) fell to New Mexico (9-4-4, 3-0-2) by a score of 2-0 in its conference finale. Both teams were able to control the ball in the first half, trading possessions and working into the opponent’s defensive third. New Mexico was able to put pressure on the Broncos late in the half, tallying a 10-2 shot advantage, and put away one of its attempts in the 41st minute. Natalie Jenks scored the Lobo goal off a Rachel Montoya cross from the left corner. Jenks met the ball in the middle of the box, four yards from the goal and put the shot past the Bronco defense and into the net.
