G - Wagon: The Military Vehicle of Choice built for all kind of missions, combat proven design
Since 1979 more than 60.000 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon vehicles have been sold to military customers worldwide.
It is the perfect vehicle for transporting personnel or loads of up to three tonnes and for towing trailers or artillery both on and off road.
The enormous design effort has resulted in a vehicle which is superb for both cross-country driving and on- road driving, and which can scarcely be beaten in terms of reliability or economy.
Strategic mobility: the G-Wagon is fitted for transport by air, sea shipment and rail movement.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, as a Light-Weight-Vehicle, can have either a 2850 mm or a 3120 mm wheelbase. For the Light-Vehicle configuration (6x6 driveline) the G-Wagon is built with a wheelbase of 4230 mm, with intermediate axle at 3120 mm.

Air transportability: the vehicle can easily be transported as an external load slung below a helicopter or as an internal load in an aircraft. Protection of the driver and co-driver: the G-Wagon is fitted with attachments for Add-On Armour (Survivability Enhancement Kit S E V kit).

Powered by a modern turbocharged common rail diesel engine, it meets the latest requirements of armed forces in terms of fuel efďŹ ciency and exhaust emissions (Emission Standard EURO 4). Based on all these design features, on its combat proven design and on the global world wide service network (more than 5000) of the DaimlerChrysler organisation, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon family has archived an outstanding position as a standard military vehicle in its payload category.
