Letter from the Executive Director Hello Bolingbrook! We’re celebrating 50 years of “Where the fun is!” this year! We’ve come all the way from a single white house in 1970, to where we are today with 50 properties totaling over 1,000 acres of open space, two community centers, an indoor/outdoor aquatic park, two fitness centers, and a nature center that have been home to a countless number of fun programs and activities. We’ve had a blast bringing the first wave of projects as a result of the 2018 referendum. We hope you enjoyed the four brand-new playgrounds as much as we did in 2019. This year will be even more exciting. The plans are in the works to renovate the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex, with ground set to break this spring. We’re going to add new program rooms, family changing rooms, renovate the locker rooms at LifeStyles Fitness Center and Pelican Harbor Indoor Aquatic Park, and update the entrance to the facility. Along with the pathway connection project by Weber/Hassert Road, we’ll be installing FIVE new playgrounds at the following parks: Indian Chase Meadows (525 Phesant Chase Dr.) River Bend (1940 Danube Way) Central (201 Recreation Dr.) Indian Boundary (990 W. Boughton Rd.) Remington Lakes (811 W. Remington Blvd.) Over the next few pages, my pal Parkie will serve as your tour guide. He’ll show you just a fraction of the fun projects we’ve completed over the last ½ century. We sure have grown a lot! As always, I hope to see you out and about in our parks, at a program, swimming at Pelican Harbor, or enjoying a round of golf at Boughton Ridge Golf Course. Sincerely,

Ron Oestreich, Executive Director

We’ve had a lot of help from all of you to get where we are today. It’s YOU that makes Bolingbrook Park District a special place to be and for that, we sincerely thank you. We’ve grown as Bolingbrook has grown. We thank you for getting us off the ground and moving in 1970, trusting us with your support in passing referendums, and through all the construction projects. We hope you have had as much fun as we’ve had providing you with opportunities to have fun with your family and friends. The best part is, we’re just getting started! The future is bright for Bolingbrook Park District and we look forward to seeing you over the next 50 years!

Stay tuned for the 50th Anniversary SUMMER PARKS CHALLENGE and the grand openings of 5 NEW PLAYGROUNDS! Brought to you by Andy’s Frozen Custard!
