A Letter from the Executive Director Greetings Friends! I hope you are all doing well during these unprecedented times. We continue to be grateful for the doctors, nurses, police, fire, Village of Bolingbrook, and of course our own Bolingbrook Park District employees who have all been on the front lines during this COVID-19 period. Our Board of Commissioners and staff want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to you as well. We have heard positive feedback regarding programs and services offered during the quarantine. We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate through the State of Illinois Restore Illinois Plan. There is no greater joy than to hear laughter in our facilities, on our playgrounds, and people golfing, fishing, and swimming. Bolingbrook Park District has kept to our mission of providing world-class parks and recreation services in a fiscally responsible manner to enhance the community’s quality of life throughout this challenging time. One example of our commitment to fiscal responsibility is through the nearly $2 million reduction in operational and capital in 2020. At the same time, we are progressing forward with our referendum projects at the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex, lazy river island at Pelican Harbor, the pathway connection, and playgrounds. Our team is committed to this mission and the excellence it represents. These times have resulted in some new and creative programming throughout the spring and summer. This will continue into the fall. Thank you for checking out our digital Fall guide. We will continue to evolve and meet your programming needs in this ever-changing environment. Whatever your interests are, our team is prepared to continue to provide you with the world-class services you have come to know and enjoy. This has been an interesting 50th Anniversary for Bolingbrook Park District and the fun will continue as we head toward the holiday season. Happy autumn everyone and thank you for your amazing support of our staff, our programs, and our services.

Sincerely,

Ron Oestreich, Executive Director 1

Youth & Teen Dance Keep in mind: While the dance department offers classes by session, students should take a class for at least one year or more, until the requirements of the next level have been mastered. Participating in a class for just a session or two may not be a sufficient length of time to adequately prepare the student for the next level of training. Please also keep in mind, while ages have been provided in the brochure’s description of classes to assist in the registration process they do not supersede the recommendation of the teacher. Please stay in a level until the teacher recommends advancement. *Do not hesitate to request feedback or evaluation from your teacher.

Three Unique Sites... One Common Goal... Create a Learner for Life. The Bolingbrook Park District preschool programs, offered for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years of age, focus on educating children in a way that makes learning fun. Experienced teachers create a warm, positive educational environment that fosters a child’s natural creativity and curiosity. Children are engaged in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that are aligned with state preschool learning standards. We communicate with kindergarten program administrators in the area to ensure that our curriculum prepares our students for success in elementary school.
