Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is the Queen's official London residence. The site where the palace stands used to be the mulberry garden planted by king James I. The front building is 108 meters long.
Buckingham Palace was built by a politician – Lord Buckingham in the 18th century. In 1761 king George III bought the building for his family. Now it has got 775 rooms: 52 royal and guest rooms, 19 State rooms, 92 offices, 188 staff bedrooms and 78 bathrooms. There is a chapel, a post office, a swimming pool too.
