Rooted in a dream-like earthly paradise, the collection delves into a female fantasy yet imparts a sense of discipline and rigorous restraint in its simplified shapes and compact materials. I n c l e a r re j e c t i o n o f s p e e d y c o m p u t e r- g e n e r a t e d p r i n t s , E t ro d r a w s upon the nearly extinct art of hand-painted prints. Marrying the timec o n s u m i n g t e c h n i q u e s o f I t a l i a n a r t i s t s w i t h h e r f a m i l y ’s d e c a d e s - o l d fabric expertise, she presents a collection that is entirely comprised of hand-painted pattern. Each work of art has been expressly placed and printed on the garment for which it was designed. “ M y w o r k i s a n e m o t i o n a l e n d e a v o r, I o b s e r v e e v e r y t h i n g , s t o r i n g sensations and inspirations to share with my creative team. I keep a notebook in which to record things that strike me. Then I work by subtraction, gradually cleaning out the notebook and throwing away most of the notes until it is time to get up the courage to close the circle. The new Spring/Summer 2013 collection, designed by Alessandro Del’Acqua, develops the vision of this historic Fashion House dedicated to precious and sensual materials and tailoring. Utilizing vivid colors, mixed textures and unique and opulent fabrics, the designer has created an intoxicating array of possibilities for a youthful and sophisticated 21st century woman.

Enchanted
For Spring Summer 2013 Massimiliano Giornetti enchanted the Ferragamo woman with his ultra-luxe and immaculately crafted spring collection. Buttery soft leathers, exotic skins and rich suedes were tailored into must-have separates and styled into looks that were both edgy and sophisticated. Â A myriad of equestrian-inspired details like s a d d l e s t i t c h i n g e x u d e d c r a f t s m a n s h i p a n d I t a l i a n l u x u r y, w h i l e o r i g a m i pleated dresses and bold spring leathers were very fresh and of-themoment. Â Accenting the intricate ready-to-wear pieces were strong s t a t e m e n t a c c e s s o r i e s . A n o v e r- t h e - k n e e b o o t i n a s u p p l e c a l f s k i n o r r i c h crocodile was most coveted among editors and admirers of the brand and a brocade embroidered hobo was right on trend for the season.
