With the advantages of low energy consumption, low maintenance, improved robustness and faster switching, LED displays are now used in a variety of applications. They are used anywhere from rock concerts and sports stadiums through to decorative displays used to tantalise consumers. These thin, lightweight LED screens are now seen at airports, retail outlets and now employed by venues wanting to give patrons a ‘big screen’ viewing experience. Indoor screens are generally viewed from a closer distance so pixel pitch starts at 4mm (which equates to a 4 meter viewing distance) all the way up to 20mm (which generally equates to a viewing distance of greater than 20m). Tri colour LEDs are used to make the picture smooth with high resolution. A wide variety of signal is accepted from TV signal through to multi format video, RGB and brightness and contrast can be controlled to match the screen output to the environment. Custommade cabinets can be manufactured to house the screens with specific mounting points incorporated. Pixel Pitch - A Rule of Thumb Pixel pitch is used to determine the distance we wish to view the screen from to get a defined picture. As a general rule of thumb every metre we are from the screen equates to 1mm of pixel pitch. For example, if a screen is at the back of a stage 20m deep, the minimum pixel pitch would be 20mm. However as most of the audience would be further back than 20m you would be better off to aquire a screen with a larger pitch, which is more suitable and economical. Resolution If you want to watch a certain definition of picture, the pixel pitch (or size of the pixel) will determine the size of your screen. A standard definition picture has 720 columns of pixels on its horizontal axis so if the pixel pitch is 10mm this equates to a screen width of 7.2mtr to achieve the desired effect.

FLEXIBLE LED TAPE Light Emotion’s LED Tape is a flexible, linear LED product that has hundreds of architectural applications. Its high output and extremely low profile means the tape is ideal for installation into tight spaces such as cove lighting, display cases, signage applications and more. These downlight fixtures mount flush in any gyproc ceiling, connected by a single cable and are easy to operate.
