We are excited to welcome you to the first Maidens of the Meadow bred heifer production sale! As our operation has expanded we have been considering how to evolve and improve yet maintain the numbers that work for our operation. We wanted to find a way that would incorporate unique marketing ideas, so this is what we have decided to do.We are bringing you all of our 2016 purebred bred heifers and you make the choice.We are confident in them all and hope you will appreciate knowing we haven’t kept a few favorites for ourselves! You be the judge and choose the type of female that works for you and your program.When analyzing these heifers, we are extremely proud to offer a powerful and consistent group of females.They are a deep set and I do believe you would have to make a lot of miles to find a set of bred heifers this deep in quality and consistency. We are pleased to offer a lot of genetics that are not regularly available for sale and are descendants to some of the most prolific cows in the Simmental breed.This will also be the first year you will be able to purchase Royal Red bred heifers and this will be the largest offering of them in one location.The same can be said for the Horizon females in this sale as well.These females are all carrying the services of calving ease sires, a few AI sires and a few sires that are exclusive to very few breeders. We kept the breds out on pasture until our harvest was over and they have not been pushed in anyway.We are pleased to offer a calving program for a minimal cost to the purchaser, we would be glad to discuss these options with you if you are interested. All the heifers are on a full herd health program and will have had both scour-guard shots prior to sale day. As always we will work with you to coordinate delivery of your purchases as quickly and efficiently after the sale as possible. We are very pleased to have the Bohrson Marketing Team as our sales management for this event. They have spent a lot of time analyzing and assessing these females and know them very well. They will be able to answer your questions and assist you with purchasing the right ones for you! Bouchard Livestock is also a part of our sales team that is available to assist if you prefer. All the heifers have been videoed and will be available on our website by midNovember. The sale will also be broadcast online through DLMS. This fall seems to have brought with it some different challenges than the last couple however we as cattleman are a very resilient “breed” and have learned and improved in so many aspects of our business over the last number of years. Heading into 2017 will be no different, we need to ensure that our cattle work for us and we are confident that these heifers will contribute to your success as a producer, either purebred or commercial. With a nice run of sales in our neck of the woods over the course of a few days we would love to host you and welcome you to attend the Chopper K sales facility for some hospitality Friday evening and for lunch prior to sale time Saturday as well. She is extremely eye appealing and has a great balance of femininity and performance. A copy and paste from her twin sister’s footnote likely would have sped things up here, as these two are really peas in a pod. 137C is explosive in her muscle pattern, super tanky a real brood cow in the making, you will have to split hairs on which one you prefer. These three full siblings will catch your attention, and they deserve it.We flushed 19Z as a two year old that we saw a lot of potential in and we ended up with all heifers out of the flush, which we were very excited about. As 19Z matures she has developed into the female we expected her to.
