Herzegovina and pours into the Sava near Kostajnica. In its upper flow from the spring in Srb to Bihać it is a typical mountain river and flows over the waterfalls rarely seen in the world. Una regatta has been successfully organized on this “beauty” for already 37 years, gathering people from our entire country and abroad, no matter how hard are the times our country has been going through. Una regatta succeeded to gather people, true lovers of the Una River and bring them closer with its unobtrusive spirit and the recognizable image. The challenge that it gives to the participants is what brings them to the regatta, year after year. The first Una Regatta started in 1964 and had a special status and the
privilege as compared to other events in the same year. In this kayak caravan that sailed from Martin brod to Bosanska Krupa there was 80 water sports fans from France, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, West Germany and Yugoslavia.
International ecology fair ”Ekobis” The fair “EKOBIS” is the festival of ecology, ecotourism, ecological industry, ecological wood processing and healthy food that is organized by the Chamber of commerce of the Una-Sana Canton. It started in 2003, finding its foothold in existing resources of this area and the vision of future development. It represents unique, international, business event of the fair, selective character connected to the ecological technologies. Besides the classical, fair part that has the exhibition – saleable character, in which in last 7 years over 1000 exhibitors from 15 countries presented themselves, EKOBIS is recognizable by the fact that rich educational programs are organized
along with each event – round-tables, symposiums, presentations and promotions of companies, products and projects, business meetings, ecological actions, children ecological actions, gastro festival, cultural and sports and recreational programs, etc. Local restaurants and hotels presented themselves with the gastrooffer of Una-Sana Canton within the “Gastro-festival”. Over 220 programs like this had been realised and over 60,000 visitors came to the fair.
Festival of performing arts ”Bihaćko Ljeto”
Bihać has been enriched with new programs since 1999, with the Festival of performing arts and theatre “Bihać summer”. Since then, every year in the calendar beginning of summer, Bihać has been living a new life, because “Bihać summer” means much more than just a festival for this town. It feels like numerous treasuries of cultural-historical heritage of Bihać are being opened during these days and inspire people with the sophisticated expressions of human spirit that make life refined, richer and more spiritual. Through its continuity, the Festival has become certain cultural brand of the town of Bihać and its summer tourist offer. All renowned theatres in BiH and numerous from neighbouring Croatia mark this Festival in their calendars. Numerous artists passed over the boards of Bihać’s open air and indoors stages and here are some of them: Zijah Sokolović, Štbački buk Josip Pejaković, Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Haris Burina, Jasna Diklić, Nada Đurevska, Enis Bešlagić, Ksenija Pajić, Zijad Gračić... 15 renowned theatre plays are performed every year, out of which some for children, and concerts and book presentations are held in additional program.
