ové Národní centrum fotografie a dílna tapiserií v Jindřichově Hradci by zřejmě nevzniklo, kdyby nezískalo evropské finance přes Integrovaný operační program. Motto operačního programu „Vracíme památky do života“ bylo v tomto případě naplněno měrou vrchovatou. Celkový rozpočet projektu se vyšplhal přes 150 milionů korun, náročná rekonstrukce spojila tři památkové objekty dohromady. Ty jsou dnes naplněné unikátními expozicemi otevřenými veřejnosti.

he new National Centre of Photography and a Tapestry Workshop in the town of Jindřichův Hradec would probably never come into being had it not received European funding through the Integrated Operational Programme. The motto of the operational programme, “We bring monuments back to life”, was in this particular case met to the fullest. The total project budget rose to the amount of over 150 million Czech crowns, and the ambitious reconstruction endeavour combined together three historic buildings. These are now full of unique exhibits open to the public.
Gobelíny a fotografie očima i rukama
Někdejší zámecký pivovar znovu ožívá jako Dům gobelínů, kulturních tradic a řemesel, který zahrnuje nejen tematické expozice, ale i dílny. Návštěvníci se mohou nechat nalákat na výstavu věnovanou Marii Hoppe-Teinitzerové (1879–1960), která proslavila českou tapiserii v zahraničí. Marie jako jedna z prvních žen u nás studovala uměleckoprůmyslovou školu a tkaní gobelínů se učila v Německu, Dánsku, Švédsku i ve Francii. Je považována za zakladatelku dílensky tkané tapiserie v Československu. Na činnosti Centra v dalších prostorách se vedle Domu gobelínů podílí Muzeum Jindřichohradecka a Národní muzeum fotografie, které připravuje výstavy českých i zahraničních fotografů. Mezi hlavní poslání jindřichohradeckého Centra patří také vzdělávání zacílené na děti a mládež a také na fotografickou veřejnost. Zájemci se tu mohou zúčastnit workshopů s ukázkami ručního tkalcovství nebo technik restaurování gobelínů. Když pojedete do Jindřichova Hradce, určitě si udělejte větší časovou rezervu na prohlídku samotného města, jehož centrum je městskou památkovou rezervací. Stavte se na zdejším hradě a zámku, spojeném s legendou o bílé paní. Díky staletému stavebnímu vývoji v něm lze obdivovat jak gotickou architekturu, tak renesanční či barokně upravené části. Z hradní Černé věže je krásný výhled na celé město. 69
Tapestries and photographs through eyes and hands
The former castle brewery is getting a new lease on life as the House of Tapestries, Cultural Traditions and Crafts, which includes not only thematic exhibitions but also workshops. Visitors can let themselves be lured to see an exhibition dedicated to Marie Hoppe-Teinitzer (1879–1960), who succeeded in making Czech tapestry famous abroad. Marie was one of the very first women in the country to attend an arts academy and taught tapestry-weaving in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, as well as France. Beside the House of Tapestries, the Museum of the Jindřichův Hradec Region (Muzeum Jindřichohradecka) and the National Museum of Photography are also involved in the Centre’s activities, and these institutions organize exhibitions of both Czech and foreign photographers. The main mission of the Centre in Jindřichův Hradec also includes education aimed at children and young people, as well as the community of photographers. If you are going to Jindřichův Hradec, be sure to reserve ample time to explore the city itself, as its centre is a protected conservation area. Stop by the local castle and chateaux, associated with the legend of the White Lady. Thanks to the for centuries ongoing construction development, it is possible to admire not only its Gothic architecture but also parts modified in the Renaissance or Baroque styles. And from the castle’s Black Tower, there is a beautiful view of the city.
