Please join us for a Complimentary Lunch on Sale Day at 11:30 a.m. Change is inevitable and the Friedels have made some important decisions over this past year that have been very difficult for this hard working family. As we move into the 6th Bull Sale, it will be following the successful bred female dispersal that they held last year. They have always said that they will never completely get out of the Angus but their decision to decrease their workload and only retain the replacement females resulted in sharing their impressive cowherd with the public. We can confidently say that their bred female sale was one of the most consistent and very best sets of cows that we have ever witnessed sell and you can buy these bulls with confidence that they are backed by genetics that work. As we continue to work with the Friedel family, we are excited to offer this strong set of bulls. Burl Ives, Tiger, El Tigre & Prime Cut represent the majority of the offering and are bred with a deep and marketable pedigree. This group of bulls will sell fully guaranteed as always, and you can buy with confidence that they will maintain low birth weights and increase performance. The bulls are sound, hairy, easy doing, well-balanced individuals that will add maternal strength to your program. On behalf of the Ring Creek program, we would like to thank all of the past customers and welcome any new customers. If you have any questions on the offering or the mothers behind these bulls, feel free to contact the Friedels or us at BMS. If we can be of any assistance on sale day order buying, please contact any of the BMS staff for our professional services that will be handled in a confidential manner.

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Ring Creek Farms 6th Annual Bull Sale

As we approach another bull sale it is difficult to write an original message and express our philosophy. There is no question that genetics are the truest thing on earth and as we strive to progress and move forward it is wise to remember that what we breed is what we reproduce. Breeding good Black Angus cattle is not rocket science, but rather common sense and discipline. Search out the Superior Sires and plan your mating and observe the predictability and consistency improve in your program. Some of the building blocks that can contribute to your ongoing success are offered in this sale and it is an opportunity to increase the genetic strength and realize the potential of your cow herd. Ring Creek would be more than honoured with your attendance at this sale and we will do everything possible to make your experience a good one. Come early and eat some beef and enjoy our hospitality. Your support and encouragement is humbling. Sincerely Pat and Len Friedel

The semen collection will be at Ring Creek Farms ’ expense and the buyer ’s convenience. Any semen collected will be for Ring Creek Farms ’ in herd use only. Expected Progeny Differences: Statistics generated for individual cattle through national genetic evaluations. EPD ’s - Allow breeders to estimate a young animal ’s breeding value, that animal ’s value as a parent - Allow a fair comparison of breeding value by removing environmental bias such as climate, feed and special management - Are the best tool available to compare animals between herds, countries and year of birth - Help breeders make informed decisions regarding breeding stock selection by evaluating numerous traits such as growth-related traits, carcass traits and reproductivity - Estimate the group performance of one parent compared to the group performance of another parent assuming similar mates. EPD ’s EVALUATE GROUP AVERAGES AND OFFSPRING ’S PERFORMANCE. THEY CANNOT PREDICT INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE AND WEIGHTS To evaluate seed stock, use EPD ’s, pedigree and visual assessment. With EPD ’s the concept of “intermediate optimums ” works best. Selection for one trait or for extremes generally results in unexpected consequences due to genetic corrections - for example, intense selection for high yearling weights will also increase birth weight. Successful cattle breeding requires a thoughtful and balanced approach to optimize fertility, growth and carcass merit while improving profitability and efficiency.

Reference Sires Tiger is one of our feature herd sires and was purchased as a calf in Hamilton Farms 2007 Bull Sale for a record breaking $52,000.00 for one half interest. This bull represents all the qualities we are looking for in Angus cattle. He has been admired by many astute cattlemen for his correct structure, appealing muscle shape and proud character. He is sired by Kodiak 5R, who has become perhaps the greatest proginator in the Angus breed. Tiger ’s show record may not be soon equalled but much greater and more important has been his breeding performance, siring so many high quality offspring, both sexes. When we first saw El Tigre 28U it was our conviction that he showed the same potential as TIGER 5T and it took $82,000.00 to purchase him (1/2 interest). He has developed into a mature athletic individual with great breeding capacity. He is very sound and Tiger and El Tigre are both about the best footed Angus cattle we have seen. El Tigre ’s progeny, both sexes, are of very high quality and he is writing his own chapter in the Angus breed. Worthy of note, Dam HF Echo 84R established herself as a breeding powerhouse with these her first two calves. They are no accident and El Tigre 28U has attracted alot of attention by some very keen cattlemen with semen sales to numerous countries overseas such as England, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Australia, and some European countries. Reference Sires We continue to use Prime Cut for his quality and soundness. He is a herd builder and his daughters are foundation females. Prime Cut has excellent muscle design and the fleshing ability the industry strives for. His sons are always favorites and his daughters are feminine, broody females with abundant milk and quality udders. These cattle are independent, low maintenance and very tough.

Ring Creek Brutus 114Z has an eye catching profile and we believe he will sire progeny with the same quality. Out of a moderate stylish Prime Cut young cow that has an excellent udder and is good footed. Brutus 114Z is big testicled and a very good breeder. He was with a group of replacement heifers and when they were preg checked they were closely grouped. He is genetically unique.

Reference Sire New to Ring Creek This young bull was the high seller at $27,000 in the Fleury Spring Bull Sale and exemplifies quality and style. He is very active and an aggressive breeder and serviced a group of heifers and cows in 2013 and will add correctness, balance and eye appeal. We expect he will sire good uniform calves.
