Welcome to the Futures’ One 1st Internet sale. Although this is our first involvement with this popular sale format, the Futures’ One group has hosted a number of production and bull sales since 2007 and is not new to raising and selling reputable Simmental seedstock. Destiny, Jetstream and Maple Key are excited to offer select lots from the heart of our herds. The genetics have proven themselves not only in our pastures but in seedstock and commercial herds, the feedlot and the show ring. Whatever your focus, whatever your passion, you will find cattle bred to perform for you! Take this great opportunity to invest in the future of your herd, embryos from a top donor cow, herd building heifers or a herd sire prospect, all come right from the top, and represent a cross section of the herds’ genetic base. Only by sharing cattle that we would keep can the Futures’ One Group expect satisfaction from our customers. Buy with confidence knowing that the Futures’ One Group stand behind the cattle that we sell. Thank you to all previous buyers and if you have any questions about the offering or need assistance navigating the new format please don’t hesitate to contact any of us. Thank you to family and friends, past and present that have inspired, encouraged, coached or just plain dug in to get the job done. You are appreciated! You are invited to join us in person at Destiny Simmentals, Oct 4th and 5th, the weekend of Bar 5 Extravaganza Sale and Prospect Hill’s Dispersal, to view the complete sale offering. Enjoy our hospitality and analyze the offering up close and personal. The beef industry is experiencing times like never before – this is the time to invest in your herd’s future to ensure success and profitability in the long term! Sincerely, Todd, Shane & Stan

As we enter back to the Futures One Group reestablishing a production sale, Destiny has decided to showcase a cow family that were sale leaders at each past sale. This donor dam is admired by many for her natural fleshing, rivers of milk production on a moderate frame and docility. This cow, along with her paternal sisters by Legacy, all exhibit youthful combined with longevity, and are all leading reasons why we continue to breed the majority of our yearlings to Legacy. They come easy and stress free, get up and suck, and grow into powerful momma cows. SOFIA is open this summer and flushing well.

I want to start the bred heifer section from our profile SOFIA family with none other then a powerful BUCKEYE daughter. This deep red, blaze face heifer is setting up a nice table underneath as the BUCKEYE’s consistently do. She is the result of a fresh B egg we planted, but her extra age is to her benefit. Bred early for a January calf to Bar CK Vision on Mar 29. Exposed Apr 25 to RTC 7A. Preg checked to AI date.

Destiny Buckeye Sire of Lot 1A

This Wideload bred heifer features SOFIA on the paternal side. A bull we bought an interest in from FiveStar Livestock and we are very excited about his progeny. Wideload is a 680S son of Sofia that consistently adds thickness and base dimension to all his offspring. The dam is a blaze face cow that consistently produces functional progeny.

When we picked Lot 1B from the pasture for this sale we were, to say the least, very impressed with this heifer to showcase in this production sale. We then went to another pasture and quickly noticed the full sister exhibiting the some great qualities, with a blaze face as a bonus. This Feb heifer has the potential to get the look next year on a pasture or in a ring … you decide her DESTINY.

Bred Mar 20 to Legacy. A double up of Legacy in this calf ’s pedigree will be exciting. Exposed Apr 25 to RTC 71Z. Preg checked Sept 1; called 4-5 months.

Another paternal grand daughter to Sofia by Wideload, this heifer has the flash to command attention. Extra extension with width are first qualities to this heifer. The pedigree is anchored by one of Canada’s most respected cows, none other than 505H. Add some Joker and Pathfinder to the mix, and the resulting cocktail is very predictable in potency.

My favourite donor cow at Destiny is nicknamed Kandee. She constantly produces showring cattle and has progeny that have won many times, including the Charlie Watson award at the RAWF junior show. 6B and 27B are both in our 4H string this summer, being heavy muscled Throttle calves that are always admired. Kandee is back in donor production this summer, and possibly you want to try 6 embryos instead of taking your pick of the heifers.

A fancy extended Broker daughter from a hard working, well uddered Winchester daughter. This clubby styled calf reminds me of a calf (RTC/JETS Upper Class) we sold previously at Futures to Scott Matthews. A purchase that went on to be supreme at Beouf, market multiple embryos and bull calves walking in many great pastures. That heifer was a sleeper that day, and this one I believe will earn that title in years to come from this offering. Look at the pedigree depth, KS Kelsey cow, Gunner and 3D Katie. Genetics work .. 3D Katie was grandam to Upper Class.

Mothered by a moderate framed two year old, with pedigree and cow power originating from astute cow herds in Western Canada, and sired by our walking herdsire Jetstream Zenith 16Z (Odin son). 4B has a balanced pedigree, an attractive profile on a moderate frame with lots of middle and muscle. She offers the many attributes that continue to attract folks to the Simmental breed. Trust me when we say this heifer will “Blossom” in your herd.

Stems from a solid proven pedigree of great Simmental genetics. This docile, bold sprung heifer is a good combination of muscle, shape, performance with style, haircoat and proven lineage. The Destiny Buckeye bull hit the target with this one! Bright Lite is Jared’s 4-H heifer so we would like to retain show rights until after the Royal Winter Fair.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE • In order to participate in the online auction you will need to pre-register and obtain a buyer number. To do this, go to the LiveAuctions website, www. liveauctions.tv and select Futures One Internet Sale. • After logging, in the buyer registration form should pop up automatically. If it doesn’t there is a link you can select that says “register for a buyer number’. This form requires you to fi ll out your bank name, city, state (province), phone number and a contact. • You may register to bid after the sale opens, but please remember that authorization to bid is not instantaneous. We recommend that your register for a buyer number at least the day before the closing of the sale. • If you do not feel comfortable bidding online, please feel free to contact anyone at the front of the sale catalogue and bidding can be done directly through a person. HOW THE AUCTION WORKS • Once you have a username and have received a buyer number then you are ready to bid. You will see a screen that is unique to your user ID. • There will be a list containing the sale lots. If you click on a lot, the video clip or photo will be displayed to the right. The next bid, current price, proxy bid and manual bid buttons will be displayed below the video area. This page will react to your bids by stating, “you are in” or “you are out”. • No one else will be able to see your bid - that data is not accessible to the public. Each time you login, the auction screen will display your personal bidding information. Your auction screen is unique and private - displaying your activity to only you. • Remember that you must have the lot that you are bidding on selected. This is where it tells you if you are in or out. It is here where you can also see your proxy bid settings (as applicable). WHAT IS A PROXY BID? With a proxy bid you can enter your maximum bid and then sit back and watch. When you enter a proxy bid amount the LiveAuctions system automatically bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid. If the lot closes out for less than your maximum, that’s all you pay. This means that you don’t have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed. This makes it more convenient and less time consuming. It can also greatly assist those breeders that can’t be near a computer or are busy with other duties at the time of final bidding and closeout. Your maximum amount is kept confidential from other bidder and the seller. Even though you can see this amount on your screen no one else can. The LiveAuctions system compares your bid to those of the other registered bidders and the system automatically places bids on your behalf, using only as much of your bid as is necessary to maintain your high bid position. The system will only bid up to your maximum amount necessary to maintain you as the high bidder. If another bidder had a higher maximum you’ll be outbid and the system will tell you that “YOU’RE OUT”. But if no other bidder has a higher maximum you win the final bid. THE FINAL CLOSE OUT BIDDING PROCESS When the bidding starts the bidding clock will run for a pre announced time (usually 30-45 seconds) or until there is a bid at which time the clock will rewind to its original 30 or 45 seconds. For example: if the bidding clock gets down to 1 second remaining then a higher bid is submitted, the clock will then restart. The rewind process will continue with each bid received until the allotted time elapses without a bid. Then the lot will be considered sold. Each year we receive a few calls after the sale from breeders who were interested in bidding on an animal, but failed to watch the bidding clock and let the bidding time expire. So if you are interested in a particular animal be sure to submit your bid while there is still time on the clock. This is where using the proxy bid can come in handy - ensuring you do not miss a bid! The final sale close out will begin 7:00 pm EST on Saturday, October 11, 2014. We will have a pre-posted sale order that we will follow for the close out. At that time will be starting with the close out for the first lot on the sale order. At this time you may only bid on this lot, their video will be displayed as well as the clock counting down. There will also be a LiveAutions tech announcing during this time what price we are at and the amount of time left on the clock ( this information is also visible on your screen at this time). Once that lot has sold, we will move on to the next lot and so on until all the lots have been closed one at a time. If you have any questions feel free to contact any of the LiveAuctions staff and that would be happy to assist you.
