Coming Up PRIDE SERVICE Monday, June 3 at 6 pm. at Temple Ner Tamid, 936 Broad St., Bloomfield. Bnai Keshet, Shomrei Emunah, and Temple Ner Tamid are collaborating once again this year for a Chag Ha-Ga-avah, our LBBTIQ Pride Holiday service. This year’s plan is to make it more inclusive for families of all kinds. It will be outdoors (weather permitting) with a putluck picnic dinner. Our guest speaker will be Gabriel Blau, Chief Operator of Family Equality Council, an incredibly important advocacy organization. His theme will be family oriented. Help us make our Pot Luck Dinner Special; click on the link to add to the festivities. http://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=IBUF1315&welcome=1 BURY THE HOT, by BK Member Deb Levy: Book Reading and Signing at BK Tuesday, May 21 at 7:30 pm.  Deb grew up celebrating holidays with Sal’s family. She trick-or-treated with his daughter. Yet Deb knew nothing about Sal’s past until he called out of the blue and asked her to write his story. There was a reason she didn’t know. He hadn’t even told his wife the details of his childhood. Bury the Hot is the Holocaust story few have the tenacity or courage to share and explores both the traumatized childhood and how the repression of it impacts a marriage. It is a heartbreaking account of evading murder, and a brutally honest reflection of a life lived trying to escape the memories. Rock & Roll Kabbalat Shabbat  Friday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m.  We’re happy to announce another rockin’ rollin’ Shabbat created by rocker Rabbi Darby. Rabbi Darby sets off for Boston with his family in a few weeks. What better occasion to honor and show our love and appreciation for Rabbi Darby for his years at BK. The send-off will include remembrances, singing, and even some Roabsting. COFFEE AND CONVERSATION Wednesday, June 12 at 8 pm at BK.  Prospective members are invited to come learn more about our BK community and religious school. Rabbi Elliott Tepperman, Rabbi Ariann Weitzman, and members of BK will be on hand to meet and answer questions. Call the office (973-746-4889) if you are interested in attending.
