Blue Willi’s & Indigo The Blue Willi’s concept is built on “the blue story” – the story about the blue colour. Indigo is natures own blue colour dye, a living colour which has been used for more than 4,000 years. Among others, the Egyptians used it for cave painting. To this day, the Tuareg nomads in Africa still dye their clothes with indigo. Since antiquity they have extracted the blue dye from the herb woad and from the tropical plant Indigofera Tinctoria.

On the most exposed areas, the wear and washing of the clothing will cause the outer layer of the indigo colour to disappear and start to assume the white colour from the core of the yarn. Over a period of several years the clothes will leave the signature of the owner’s natural wear, thus allowing the clothes to age and mature their beauty.
Our Indigo knitwear is made with yarns dyed with this very same indigo dye – nature’s tradi- Blue Willi’s presents, as one of the few protion. The universal appeal that Indigo has as ducers in the world, a concept collection of a living colour is based on the ability to fade Indigo knitwear in many different shades.

Product info. We have gathered our know-how from a lifetime of making clothes. From ambitions, experiments, attempts, and mistakes to the final achievement of materials behaving as we want them to. Yet still remaining focused on making clothes for people - clothes in which to live. Living people deserve living clothes. And that is why we use only 100% pure natural materials in Blue Willi’s garments. Cotton, flax, and silk are our elements. Each with a history and quality of its own and each manufactured according to the best traditions of fine workmanship. Wear them, rough them up, wash them, and dry them. Then start all over again! They are meant and made for hardwearing and washing. Machine wash them at 60° C (140° F) and tumble dry them for your best comfort. The rougher you treat them, the mellower they become. Blue Willi’s clothing goes wherever you want them to go. No strings attached - no mystery. This is why our clothes last. They will grow on you, as you may grow with them.
Well, take a look at this: All Blue Willi’s knitwear made from cotton, flax and silk is machine-washable at 60° C/140° F and should be tumble-dried for best comfort. All Blue Willi’s knitwear comes pre-washed, tumble-dried and thus pre-shrunk. Don’t worry about anything, just enjoy it.
