Todd Piro of Fox & Friends came to the Indian River Colony Club to discuss President Donald Trump's State of the Union address.

A Fox News correspondent recently visited the Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) in Viera. On Wednesday, Feb. 6, Todd Piro of the Fox News segment “Fox & Friends” came to Viera to discuss with local residents the State of the nion address by President Donald Trump, which aired the night before on Feb. 5. “I thought it was the best speech he’s done,” Anne Allison said. “I (particularly) like the way Trump is bringing the military back,” added Nancy Carrol. “For so many years, it’s been decimated. But, in

the last two years, it’s been given money to bring it back, to bring it back in order.” The show was a segment of “Fox & Friends” called “Breakfast with Friends,” where Fox News correspondents are sent around the country to interview local communities and discuss current affairs. During his State of the nion address, Trump spoke about various issues and plans for the nited States in the near future. These statements also included the announcement that the nited States will withdraw from the nuclear arms treaty with Russia, which was established in 1987. At the Indian River Colony

Club, however, discussions were more focused on some of the more pressing matters for Brevard County seniors. “I think the economy is very important (to Brevard),” IRCC resident Dale Bottom said. “And I really think that we do need an improved immigration program. We don’t have a big problem here because we have a wall, but there are lots of people coming into this country who shouldn’t be here. There are plenty of ways to come here legally, if they go through the process to do it.” “Fox & Friends” and “Breakfast with Friends” is broadcast at 6 a.m. daily on Fox News. VV

World Class Care Right Where You Live

Brevard County is filled with golf courses, luxury homes and apartments. There are plenty of things to do for an easygoing retirement, which is what makes it a hub of senior living. One thing that people often overlook when thinking about retirement and homecare, however, is what could happen to our family members when nobody is looking. On Feb. 21, the Brevard Commission on Aging along with other organizations focusing on seniors presented the 2019 Elder Abuse Awareness & Education Seminar Series. This series offered six speakers covering a wide range of topics, such as senior finances and signs of abuse in seniors. The series presented on Feb. 21 was titled Laying the Tracks. “‘Laying the Tracks’ (represents) laying the tracks into your future,” said Theresa Russel, a senior human services program specialist. “We base the seminars (on the audience) — one for general (audiences) and one for professionals. This one (was) for the general public.” The six speakers were: Dr. Visa Srinivasan, the medical director of Health
