VIRTUAL OPEN EVENTS Virtual Open Event microsites built by Bluestorm provide an online platform for prospective students to take a tour of your campus, hear from department heads and answer FAQs around applications, finance and accommodation.

The coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis has resulted in uncertain and challenging times, especially for education organisations which is why we are working closely with our Further Education clients to keep their student recruitment campaigns active. With school closures in place, many students face uncertainty with regards to their next steps. For those looking at Further Education, they have questions to ask. With colleges closed and open events cancelled, we need to look at new ways to reach them, provide them with the information they need and help them make an informed decision about where to go from September.

OUR SOLUTION Our ‘off the shelf’ microsite solution is both cost-effective and quick to build, meaning it can be live within 1 week. Your microsite will sit as a subdomain of your existing website e.g. events. YOURNAME.ac.uk and has been designed with a mobile-first approach, which can be seen on page on the links provided on pages 4, 5 & 6.

We recommend partnering with Click Meeting (clickmeeting.com) for the delivery of any live streaming of open events. Their platform allows you to not only host a live event but also directly stream to Facebook Live & YouTube Live. *Fees for live streaming platform not included in packages.

At Bluestorm, we also offer wider marketing and communications support and can help you shout about your events and drive online ‘attendees’ via Facebook and Instagram advertising and Google AdWords campaigns. Given the current circumstances we expect social media usage to increase even further during school closures so now provides a strong opportunity to reach an engaged audience.

Snapchat offers a great platform to reach younger demographics with nearly 69% of 13-17 year olds regularly using the platform. Media format options include video and image snap ads or story ads.

Campaign creation, set up, management & reporting - £350 YouTube advertising spend - £500 (40k reach) We can provide upto 40,000 video views through skippable Youtube adverts with nearly 90,000 impressions. Videos can be targeted based on location, interests and age demographs so offer a targeted approach to brand awareness. Media format option is video ad.

Campaign creation, set up, management & reporting - £500 Spotify - £300 (20k estimated reach) Spotify offers a targeted approach to media buying and brand awareness that we estimate will reach approximately 20,000 students. As with similar channels we expect the usage of digital streaming platforms to increase sharply with school closures. Spotify will record an ad from a supplied script to play in between streaming for free users.


TERMS & FAQS: Terms Our virtual event solution is an “off the shelf” solution and is provided as is. Our virtual event solution is powered by Craft CMS with software licences included in each package. Our software provides 3 page-type templates for page creation, form builder software for data capture and Google Analytics installation. Customisation is limited to logo, theme colour and fonts. Additional customisation, feature requests or page templates outside the scope of our Bronze, Silver and Gold packages will be quoted separately at our hourly rate *. If you choose our Gold package, we will content populate your site. This includes text copy and other digital assets such as images and files. Content population is restricted to up to 6 content pages and up to 20 department pages. Additional content and department pages will be quoted separately at our hourly rate *. All our packages provide hosting for one year. Should you require to extend beyond one year we will send you a hosting renewal reminded nearer the time. Our Bronze and Silver packages provide 0 – 20gb bandwidth usage whilst our Gold package provides 20gb – 100gb. Should you exceed your allocated bandwidth usage consistently over a three-month period we will contact you to suggest moving into another bandwidth bracket and you will be charged accordingly **. Our Gold package gives you 6 months support and bug fixes. This covers you for 2 hours phone support per month to assist you with your CMS and any issues relating to any third-party services. We will fix any bugs with your software that may occur for the first 6 months. This does not cover cosmetic changes to the layout, look or feel and does not cover new feature requests. Should any third party make changes to their API or halt their service resulting in a feature not operating as it should we will quote you for additional time at out hourly rate *. Our Gold package uses a selection of third-party services who charge per month for their services. It is understood that you will assist us in creating accounts for these services so that you can be charged directly by the third parties. We are not responsible for the operational failure of any of your third-party services should you fail to make payment to those third parties. Training for your CMS or third-party integrations is included in all our packages. Training is limited to two hours online at a time that suits you. Additional time or further training can be requested at our hourly rate *. Payment for your chosen package to be paid in full before customisation or any other service included in your chosen package can begin. * Our hourly rate is £70 per hour. ** Our bandwidth brackets are available on request
