ander Plug et Lernert Engelberts sont deux gamins hollandais de, respectivement, 43 et 35 ans. Ils ne sont pas réalisateurs et pourtant, ils sont rémunérés pour leurs réalisations. Pour nous, Lernert & Sander sont plutôt des metteurs en scène, voir des gosses qui jouent à filmer leurs délires. Difficile d’appeler leurs installations autrement qu’un délire. Depuis 2007 et leur vidéo Chocolate Bunny, où de pauvres petits lapins en chocolat se faisaient dissoudre la face à coup de fer à repasser, de sèche cheveux et de lampes chauffantes dans un décor monochrome, l’univers des deux bataves a conquis le monde de la réalisation. A la fois poétiques et violents, doux et malsains, leurs films ou plutôt leurs installations sont hypnotiques. Comme des enfants brûlant des fourmis à la loupe. Depuis Lernert & Sander ont multiplié leurs expériences. Créant un suspens insoutenable

ander Plug and Lernert Engelberts are two dutch kids, respectively 43 and 35 years-old. They are not producers but still, they get paid for their productions. To us, Lernert & Sander are stagers, or even kids playing with their own madness. Its hard to name their installations otherwise than madness. Since 2007 and their Chocolate Bunny video where poor little chocolate rabbits were dissolved by irons, hair sryers and heating lamps in a monochrome setting, the universe of the two kids has won over the world of direction. Both poetic and violent, sweet and insane, their films are hypnotic. Like kids enjoying burning ants with a magnifying glass. Since then, Lernert & Sander have tested many other things creating an unbearable suspense around this egg. Will the bowling ball avoid it? What about the bottle of Champagne’s cap ?
