Autopilot

18

A second in command you’ll never second guess. GSC 110 autopilot

Never deviate from your route with the precise control and proven performance of your Geonav®

Autopilot System. Perfect for both power and sailboats, this rugged pilot builds on the advanced steering control technology developed by Navicontrol, a leader in autopilot design for over 25 years and now part of Geonav. Let it take the helm with total confidence, whatever the sea’s conditions.

MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE. With a slim frame, bold styling and the subtle elegance of blue LED backlighting, the GSC 110 is a perfect complement to any vessel. But the real beauty is how simple the GSC 110 is to operate. Quickly navigate the GSC 110 User Interface with intuitive keys and menus that match the ease of a Geonav Multi-Function Display. Enjoy easy viewing thanks to the full‑color, sunlight‑readable display.

Plug in and go. No connection hassles here. Your GSC 110 Autopilot easily integrates with your Geonav navigation system.

14

GREater than the sum of its parts. The components of the Geonav® Autopilot System add up to superior course stability and steering performance, not to mention reduced fuel use. Combine them with a Geonav navigation system for total authority on the water.

TC 110 Joystick Take quick, palm-of-your-hand control of your steering system with jog or follow-up functions. This joystick mounts wherever you need it to be.

keep your course by keeping things simple. An Autopilot should make reaching your destination less complicated—not more. That’s the thinking behind every feature of the GSC 110. In seconds, set your heading or turn pattern and maintain your desired route, regardless of speed or sea and wind conditions.

FB 30 Rudder feedback unit This brushless RFU features a unique, linear variable transformer—providing decades of reliable performance.

True Course True Course uses GPS position and course-keeping algorithms to compensate for set and drift influences. The result is the steadiest possible course—automatically.

Multisensor Mode The GSC 110 fully integrates the inputs from GPS, Fluxgate Compass and Rate Gyro. That means a more stable heading reference and a superior coursekeeping Autopilot.

SCP 110 course computer The high-speed SCP optimizes rudder movement by working with the integrated GPS speed, Fluxgate Compass and Rate Gyro.

WIND mode Wind Mode provides a graphic indication to maintain your desired point of sail with continuously updated Apparent and Set Wind angle indication. This results in better steering in all wind and sea conditions. Use graphic close-hauled indication for quick reference. Requires optional wind sensor. geonav.com.au    15

One look and you won’t be the only one who’s hooked.

Side Imaging® AND DOWN IMAGING™ Sonar

What’s not to love about crystal clarity, multiple

coverage options and a dead-giveaway on where fish are hiding? Everything from angling to gunkholing is about to change. Pioneered by Geonav’s sister company, Humminbird®, and available for GIS 12 and GIS 10 Multi-Function Displays, Side Imaging® and Down Imaging™ give you amazing, picture-like detail—with side-to-side and straight-down views. Fish. Dive. Discover.

18

Blow their cover by covering every angle. Get a complete 180° view. Side Imaging® extends 240 feet to either side of your vessel, while Down Imaging™ provides picture-like views directly below you. See Side Imaging® and Down Imaging™ side-by-side, separately, together with traditional XD Sonar, or even alongside cartography. With so many options—so many angles—fish have no place left to hide.

SIDE IMAGING®

Down IMAGING™

Patented Side Imaging® technology reveals the entire world beneath the surface with 480 feet of side-to-side coverage. High frequency sonar (not a camera) cuts through murk with crystal clarity, scanning wide areas fast. With full GPS integration, mark the location of promising cover, structure and wrecks as waypoints directly onscreen. Magnify details with multiple zoom levels.

The picture-like views of Down Imaging™ are created by highfrequency sound waves emitted in razor-thin slices. The resulting sonar returns create an instant snapshot of the activity directly below your vessel. For the most complete story, use Down Imaging™ and Side Imaging® to identify structure or cover, while using traditional XD Sonar to find and target fish.

E

Fish: Objects standing off the bottom directly below the vessel will appear in the water column.

Widen your advantage.

A Custom fit.

Scan up to 240 feet to the left and right of your location with razor-thin, 455 kHz beams. The return images for these slices are then added to the images taken immediately before and after to build an incredibly detailed view. The dual-element, thru-hull GXB SSI Transducer Pair mounts on the left and right side of your vessel.

Find the colors that best match your needs with selectable palettes. Tweak your display’s sharpness to enhance edges and detail in any light. Fine-tune your sonar sensitive for the best returns in calm or turbulent water.

Get to know the water column. Reading the image produced by Side Imaging® is easy. Simply visualize the screen folded in half down the middle (behind the vessel). Then, fold the image again at the lowest point of the water column. The dark blue area provides a visual representation of the water column and bottom directly below your vessel.

It’s all in the box. Add Side Imaging,® Down Imaging™ and Geonav® XD Sonar to your GIS 12 or GIS 10 Multi-Function Display with the GSM 2000 Sonar Module.

Terrain: Neutral shades of color represent flat terrain. Dark shades represent descending terrain. Lighter shades typically represent terrain rising from the bottom. Sometimes, very hard bottoms will appear as a whiter shade.

G

Wrecked Sailboat: Structure to the left or right of the boat will appear as a clearly defined bright shape with an adjacent, dark “shadow.” This shadow is not caused by light; rather it’s the lack of sonar return because the object has already reflected the sonar energy. Generally, long shadows indicate the object is tall, and small shadows indicate something short. geonav.com.au    21
