True Beauty by Toya Merritt
Some say that true beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I tend to agree. Tall women want to be shorter and short women want to be taller. We cut off our long hair to sport a short trendy cut only later to get a long, wet-and-wavy weave. The world’s definition of beauty changes day by day, trend by trend, and season by season. The real question is – When you look in the mirror what do you see?
Do you see a woman who embodies hard work and determination to reach life’s goal balanced with adequate rest and rejuvenation? Or is your image clouded in the mirror by a mist of despair, strain, pressure, and disbelief? Hopefully, the only mist that you see came from the relaxing hot shower that you just indulged in after a long hard workout.
Taking time out each day to rebuild and refocus on you should be a vital part of your daily regimen. Activities such as walking, dancing, or aerobics for 30 minutes a day will help you to feel alive once your blood starts pumping. You become aware of your body and take pride in your accomplishment while dropping excess pounds and stress.
Aspa day every now and then never hurt anyone, right? Do what you can to get rest and rejuvenate yourself. Can’t afford the spa, don’t despair, do what you can. Take a long bath with candles or read a good book under a tree in the park. Be creative and t hink out of the box to get away from everyday pressures in your mind. You are strong and you can and will make it!
Taking care of you is the true definition of beauty. It transcends and wraps around all the other areas of your life.
