2022 Blackbelt Spring Fling Replacement Female Sale

Delivery Date: Thursday, May 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rules for Bred Heifers: 1. Heifers need to be consigned in groups of 3 to 5 heifers. Each consignor must consign a minimum of three (3) heifers. 2. Heifer birthdates: August 1 to December 31, 2020 3. Heifers should calve between August 1 and December 31, 2022 4. All heifers must be bred to a registered bull, preferably with EPD (Expected Progeny Difference) values. Heifers can be bred AI or pasture bred. 5. The registration number of the sire(s) and service sire(s) of the bred heifer must be provided at consignment to the sale. Low birth weight, calving ease service sires are recommended. 6. A breeding date or date range and the resulting projected calving date range will be required for each bred heifer. 7. Heifers must be determined pregnant by a licensed veterinarian by rectal palpation or ultrasound by April 15, 2022. 8. Recommended Vaccinations and best management practices are the following: a. 7-way Blackleg (Clostridial diseases) b. 5-way Leptospirosis - Vibriosis c. IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV d. Heifers should be treated for internal and external parasites within 30 days prior to the sale using a quality product as a best management practice. The above vaccines should be given twice (a primary and booster) in accordance with the specific vaccine label directions or within a veterinarian-client relationship in accordance with Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) guidelines. 9. Each bred heifer must have a minimum WDA (weight per day of age) of 1.5 lbs./day at delivery. This equals to 945 lbs. for August born heifers; 900 lbs. for September born heifers; 850 lbs. for October born heifers; 810 lbs. for November born heifers; 765 lbs. for December born heifers. 10. Heifers must not have been implanted with a growth implant at any time during their life. Rules for Select Three-In-One Females: The definition of Three-In-One Females for the Blackbelt Spring Fling Replacement Female Sale are as follows: 1. Female is a first-calf heifer bred back to calve between August 1 and December 31, 2022. 2. Female should have a birthdate between August 1 and December 31, 2019. 3. Current calf should be born between September 1 and December 31, 2021. 4. It is preferred that calf at side is a heifer, but not necessary.


2022 Blackbelt Spring Fling Replacement Female Sale Additional Three-In-One Female Rules 5. Three-In One Females and their calves will be sold as pairs. Two pairs will be sold at a time through the sale ring. 6. All females must be bred to a registered bull, preferably with EPD (Expected Progeny Difference) values. Females can be bred AI or pasture bred. 7. The registration number of the sire(s) and service sire(s) of the bred female must be provided at consignment to the sale as well as the sire registration number(s) of the calf at side. 8. A breeding date or date range and the resulting projected calving date range will be required for each bred female. 9. Females must be determined pregnant by a licensed veterinarian by rectal palpation or ultrasound by April 15, 2022. 10. No use of growth implants in the bred female or their heifer calf. Sale Order and Sale Commission: Sale order will be determined by a committee once all consignment females are received at the sale barn on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Sale order will rotate among consignors and will take into consideration quality and overall number of females consigned. Sales commission will be 8%. However, there is an opportunity to pay less (or more) commission if sale information is received early/on time (or late) according to the following schedule:

Additional charge: If heifers arrive to the sale facility NOT tagged with both the visual and EID tags, there will be a $35/head chute charge to tag your cattle. Any calves not paired with their dams prior to delivery will not be accepted or sold.

Please use four (4) letters to represent the bred heifer breed code. The first two (2) letters represent the sire breed and the next two (2) letter represent the dam breed. For example, a heifer sired by a ½ Simmental ½ Angus bull out of a Brangus cow would be SAUU. Another example of a heifer sired by a Hereford sire out of an Angus cross cow would be HHAX. If a specific breed is not listed, write in the breed and we will enter the specific breed abbreviation for you. If you would like to enter your data directly into a spreadsheet, please email us at info@blackbeltcattlemarketing.com and we will send you a spreadsheet template to use. We will send you a detailed worksheet after we receive your initial data. This will allow you to enter heifer pregnancy data and return prior to April 15, 2022. You will also receive Sale Tags as well as EID tags that will need to be put in prior to Sale Day.
