Dear Brickell and Key Biscayne mom, The year starts new and fresh and most of us have similar intentions and resolutions to fulfill such as spending less time plugged in and more quality time with family, exercising and eating healthier, learning something new, getting organized, making homemade dinners, etc. So, the first few weeks, you join a gym, eat more fruits and veggies and do all the right things. Two months later you find yourself in a cluttered kitchen eating a chocolate brownie trying to figure out when was the last time you attended that zumba class. Why is it so hard? How can we commit and keep those resolutions? One of my resolutions this year will be to try to make them happened all throughout the year. To do that, I have decided to re-check and adapt my resolutions every 3 months. I have figured that if I make trying to keep my resolutions’ part of my resolutions, at least I will have fulfilled one! What are your resolutions? Whatever they are-this 2013, we-moms wish you perseverance to keep up with them. But most of all, we wish you patience and the ability to enjoy whatever comes your way. El año comienza nuevo y fresco y la mayoría de nosotros tenemos intenciones similares y resoluciones que cumplir. Por ejemplo, pasar menos tiempo conectada y más tiempo de calidad con la familia; hacer ejercicio y comer más sano; aprender algo nuevo, organizarse; hacer comidas caseras, etc. Es poreso que, las primeras semanas, nos inscribimos en un gimnasio, comemos más frutas y verduras y hacemos todas las cosas que debemos hacer. Dos meses más tarde nos encontramos sentadas en una cocina desordenada comiendo un brownie de chocolate tratando de averiguar cuándo fue la última vez que asistimos a esa clase de zumba. ¿Por qué es tan difícil? ¿Cómo se puede uno comprometer y mantener esas resoluciones? Uno de mis propósitos de este año será el de tratar de hacer cumplir mis resoluciones durante todo el año. Para ello, he decidido volver a revisarlas y adaptarlas cada 3 meses. He descubierto que si intento hacer cumplir mis resoluciones parte de mis resoluciones, al menos habré cumplido una de ellas! Cuáles son las tuyas? Sean cuales sean tus intenciones este año 2013, nosotrosmamás-te deseamos perseverancia para mantenerte al día con todas ellas. Pero, sobre todo, queremos que tengas la paciencia y la capacidad de disfrutar todo lo que se te presente. Tómate tu tiempo y aprecia los maravillosos niños que has creado. needs of children because music is nonjudgmental. There is no right or wrong, it just is what it is. Either way, research does not have to tell me much. As a mom, I have seen it for myself. My 18 month old stops crying to the sound of music and that is enough. Plus, I have noticed and happens to be my music class as well. I have to admit it, I have so much fun too!

Me sorprendió mucho descubrir que la mayoría de mis compañeras música. Tuve la alegría de compartir una tarde divertida junto a Roser Cabañas y mis dos hijas el pasado 1 de Diciembre en el Miami Children’s Museum con motivo del evento de CBeebies, el prestigioso canal preescolar británico de BBC Worldwide Channels. Mis dos hijas, una de un año y medio y la otra de tres disfrutaron de la alegría y el dinamismo de Roser Cabañas, la conductora del Canal preescolar. Roser tiene la misión de enseñar a través del juego a los pequeños preescolares, en base a energía, entusiasmo y afecto y utilizando varias actividades básicas a través de sonidos y colores. Let your little one enjoy his/her puffs (Graduates from Gerber or organic options such as Plum and Happy Baby) and once they are all gone gather at least 6 empty bottles to arrange a small bowling alley (form a triangle)– now go ahead and play a little bowling game with a tennis ball. You will both have tons of fun!
