London-based Maltese artist IELLA (Daniela Attard) showcases 15 years of life drawing (from age 18 to the present) from an illustrator’s stylistic approach. Follow the artist’s journey through the early days at evening sessions at the Malta Society of the Arts to the vibrant life drawing scene of London, where she honed her skills in capturing the essence of their subjects by attending life drawing sessions around the city. From portraits to nudes, each piece showcases the unique joy of life drawing as a discipline but also as means of building creative muscle memory for more significant projects and illustration pieces.

Shaun Farrugia Heaven Like Mine

Shaun Farrugia releases his debut EP ‘Heaven Like Mine’ via Polydor, alongside a new single and stunning music video ‘Vertigo.’ Talking about ‘Heaven Like Mine’, Shaun explains: “It’s an honest account of all that I’ve felt for the past few years, the good times and the bad, with love forever being present.” Frequently played on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop, Shaun’s catalogue has 30 million streams to date. His previous cover of The Weekend’s Blinding Lights flew straight to #1 on the Shazam Discovery Charts. Artists who can credit their work to Shaun’s early songwriting include a diverse range from Mimi Webb, to collaborations with DJ Martin Garrix , to co-signs with Sigala, all being just the start to his exposure.

A New Gothic presents work by figurative artist Ġulja Holland. Holland’s work is invested in the liminal and introspective, forging an understanding of the global now; impending, anticipating and approaching something altogether new. Within 35 paintings, digital works and monoprints, the exhibition explores notions of womanhood, climate existentialism and our relationship with the natural world. Holland is collaborating with curator Andrew Borg Wirth, as well as several local and international artists, academics and practitioners from across disciplines. In the four-week period of the project, she will be delivering a diverse programme of multimedia explorations that weave global and personal narratives of womanhood, existentialist politics and alternative histories. The exhibition will be inaugurated by international art critic, curator and art historian Kathleen Soriano and will run from the 14th of April 2023 until the 21st of May 2023 at Spazju Kreattiv. This project is supported by Arts Council Malta.
