Created by Tim Hunkin and based on a Victorian illusion called a Haunted Swing, this is an immersive experience giving you a taste of weightlessness!

Luke Jerram - Museum of the Moon A stunning 7m wide installation of the moon projected with detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface.

Campi Qui Pugui - Asteroid (Catalonia) A meteorite has fallen in the street. The scientific police approach it and take some samples, but unexpected events start to happen!

Close Act - i-Puppets (Netherlands) (Roaming Performance) Investigators of this planet and explorers of our time… the i-Puppets are controlled from their mothership whilst exploring this new world - and find you!

Mind The Gap - Mirror Mirror (Roaming Performance) A team of scientists are on the lookout for real human specimens required to help out on a new secret social and scientific experiment...

Motionhouse - Gravity

CircusMASH - Zero

Using breathtaking balances and extraordinary trust, Gravity sees two performers in an evocative exploration of weightlessness and zero gravity.

50 years ago humans stepped foot on the moon, but what did they leave behind? A narrative devised piece using contemporary circus.

Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

The Dream Engine - Heliosphere

Talented musicians from the LEAP Ensemble present a programme featuring well known sci-fi theme tunes along with popular space-inspired hits!

Spiralling and spinning and seemingly weightless, a suspended acrobat explores the uncharted space above rooftops.

We will be running a tour for visually impaired visitors to familiarise themselves with the festival site - meet us at the Access Hub at 12 noon on Sat to join in!

The countdown is on... recruit your space-crew (family and friends will do) and head down for blast off!

SEE AF FOR OVERLE BLE A TIMETA TS OF EVEN

(Roaming Performance) Intergalactic visitors from outer space accidentally land on our planet. Don’t panic – they’re friendly and they’re pink!

Gobbledegook Theatre - Cloudscapes Cloudscapes transforms an urban space into a cloudgazing area. Relax on a beanbag and explore clouds, the sky and beyond.

Silent Disco It’s a party under the moon. Grab a headset and show us your best moves! On Sat at 1pm, there’s a special swing dance with the best vintage space-inspired tracks.

For performance times, see the timetable overleaf.

Visit our Access Hub outside the Hippodrome main entrance for details of our access provisions over the weekend.

Celebrating 50 years since the first moon landings, the streets of Southside around the theatre will be transformed into a lunar landscape for a whole weekend packed with performances, installations and extraterrestrial antics from a list of ‘out of this world’ acts.

Check out some sci-fi film classics in an out of this world live AV mash-up.

BLAST OFF INTO SPACE THIS SUMMER!

Visitors from another planet...
