The library of the CDMT specializes in the various aspects of textile and fashion, as well in related themes like the preservation and heritage restoration.

It processes, preserves and spreads its collection to approach the textile culture to people and offer support to the research of the own staff as at the external users.
The library reinforces the function of the CDMT to promote the textile heritage and it’s aim is to be a reference center in this field.
Access to the library is free of charge and open to all. It has 18 reading seats.
Collection The library has more than 10,000 documents published from 14th to 21th centuries, arriving from acquisitions, donations and exchanges with other centers. Modern collection: dating from 1900 onwards Historical collection: 14th – 19th centuries Audiovisuals: CD-ROM, DVD, videos Periodicals library: more than 500 titles, 80 of current issues.
To consult the historical collection it’s necessary a previous request.
As a point to emphasize:
Viñas Collection (1957), it’s cited as “exceptional”, consist of around 1,140 books from 14th to 19th.
Tolosa Collection (1983), consist of books, magazines and albums of models and fashion from the end of last century.
Institut Industrial Collection (2001). Technical textile library from 1950 to 1990, consist of 318 books and 4,800 issues of national and foreign magazines, about the textile industry and engineering.

You can do a quick search. This search is by keyword and you search the word/s in any field.
Also, you can search by fields (author, title, subject) and it allows you to specify your search.
Finally, you can do an advanced search and it allows you to combine keywords of different fields.
Imatex ď‚ž
The CDMT makes available over 22,000 textiles documents of all ages and cultures: fabrics, original designs, samples, costume and accessories, through IMATEX. Each document consists of one or more images, with information on materials, technique, chronology and decoration, among others.
